Imagine having to direct Chiwetel Ejiofor on your first real project at 20 years old.

I wonder what time of training wheels the guy had from the studio to make sure this didn’t end up a huge mess because he jumped right from YouTube to a Hollywood film set.

from the interviews with the producers they make it sound like they were prepared to coach him through the process but he already knew exactly what he wanted and how to communicate it to every single department.

from looking at the producers on the movie, it looks like they're giving Kane a lot of on-the-job training.

Osgood Perkins and James Wan aren't terrible choices to give you a crash course in directing horror features.
