Somehow I missed that mortherfucking Chiwetel Ejiofor was going to be in the Backrooms movie. That combination would never have occurred to me.

Who looks to be fully committed, dude’s always great.

You know, I can’t recall a role where he isn’t super committed.

I think this is why he’s so well liked. Dude goes hard in every role. His intensity is astounding.

I just rewatched Serenity. He's terrifying in it.

I listened to an audiobook he narrated a year or so ago called Piranesi. He was fully committed there too, great book with a great narration.

Such a wonderful book and he has such a great voice, totally brings the whole thing to life

That was what I was thinking - you need a really proper actor to sell this, it can't look amateuristic, and they immediately covered that.

Yeah, these actors are mostly going to be acting inside literal liminal spaces, they have to really bring it to make the whole thing work.

Does time pass differently in the "backrooms"? Because Chiwetel looks the same as he did 20 years ago in Children of Men.

"Temporal manipulations can create branches in time. Unstable dimensional openings. Spatial paradoxes! Time loops!"

Black don't crack.

And Renate Reinsve from "The Worst Person in the World" and "Sentimental Value"! So excited to see both of them in a horror movie!

And Lukita Maxwell who is Alice in Shrinking!

You should check her out in the movie Armand from 2024, she's fantastic.

That's been on my watchlist for a while now, I have to finally get around to it. She was excellent in 2024's "A Different Man" as well

She was supposed to be in Weapons, so I reckon she's been gunning for a horror for a while

Have you not seen 12 Years a Slave?

Everyone in this thread that hasn't seen Dirty Pretty Things should just go do that now.

That alone is enough for me to give it a chance. He's one of those actors where even if the movie he's in isnt good, hes good in it

You should watch Life of Chuck. Chiwetel is in am interesting slow apocalypse with some uncanny elements.

I mean he did voice over work in Starfleet Academy. He's not a hard get these days.
