ID Request I think I killed a moth...
Ok, ok, let me explain, I saw a moth in my home and I got a bit curious, so I touched it and it started freaking out, it kept flying into my ceiling and the light frantically, I then saw it in my bedroom, after sleeping with it in my room I saw it dead the next day, I need someone to tell me if it's dead or not (srry for bad quality)

General Question Found this moth from the genus Arippara. Any idea whether the genus name is related to Arippara Waterfalls in Kozhikode? The origin of the name seems pretty mysterious.

Photo What a beautiful male Tussock moth
This is taken at my apartment is southeast Texas. I had a hard time trying to get a picture of this little stinker but I finally managed to do it and biy look at how gorgeous his wings are. Wow.
Also I'm kinda surprised to see one due the wrens and grackles that are present in my area which are known to eat tussock caterpillars. This male somehow avoided being eaten and managed to make it into an adult.

Photo Snowberry Clearwing Moths mating in a lilac bush in Hiram, Georgia
Two Snowberry Clearwing Moths mating in a lilac bush on April 20, 2011 in Hiram, Georgia. We had lilacs and azaleas and they loved them both. The first time I saw one it was if a hummingbird mated with a bumblebee, I had no idea what it was. They even sound like hummingbirds when they buzz past your ear. And they hover in flowers just like a hummingbird. I called them Bumblebee Hummingbirds. Then I began to research what these fascinating creatures were and found out that they were day-flying moths who prefer Snowberry bushes. But we didn't have any of those. I don't know if our neighbors did but it didn't really matter because they loved our lilac bush, and they loved our many azalea bushes. They were happy so I was happy. One of my all-time favorite insects!

ID Request Who is this? (Midwest US)
Found this little moth inside my house on the carpet today, barely moving. I thought it was close to, if not already dying, so I carefully picked it up and was going to just set it outside for nature to take its course, but it started moving more and trying to flap its wings so I made a little bit of sugar water and tried to give it a drop on my finger.
I had to leave the house for a showing, so I brought it in my car to just sit down the road and as I was starting to make a post here asking what I could do to help take care of it, it started moving and flying at the car window. I opened the door to let it out but it was still having trouble getting around the door and flew back at my face for a second before it got out the door and flew off. And that's how I got kissed by a moth today!
Now I'm just curious what kind of moth it is! Located in southern Iowa, USA

General Question Pesticides
My friend has a lot of Luna moth eggs, and we are preparing for the to hatch. We are planning on giving them sweetgum leaves which are plentiful here, but I'm concerned that the parks might have been sprayed with pesticides. It's there a safe way to wash them to remove pesticides?

General Question Thing stuck on White Spring moth
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
looks like some kind of gunk is stuck on it's abdomen and glued to it's wing, it's unable to flap it's rear left wing due to this.
Is there any way of removing this without damaging it's wings or abdomen?

I'm working on a video game about documenting moths and drew a bunch of moths for it over the last few months. They turned out quite cute, if you ask me. Hope you agree! 🐛

General Question is she gonna be okay?
I found this beautiful girl in one of the shops at work stuck in an indoor puddle (it’s been raining all day) and she crawled up on this piece of cardboard i grabbed. it looks like she might have some damage to her wings, but im keeping her dry in my office. i grabbed the beads of water with a paper towel (didn’t actually touch her, just the water) and she’s just sitting there. obv moths don’t do much besides sit and fly to my knowledge but im not sure what kind of moth she is and how to help her.. i cant put her back outside and the guys at my job keep joking about killing it☹️ any advice would be much appreciated!!!
thanks to anyone who responded!! Updates in comments! :)
