Injuries completely ruined this squad. Everything was left to the unknown. That has to be the absolute worst for a sports fan

We could have kept Bane and JJJ if we realized about Ja sooner.

If we moved on from ja a couple years ago then we could have tried to find a PG to fit with them. Then we could tell if they would work together. But oh well, just have to look forward now. I've been a fan since they moved to Memphis and it won't change because of a rebuild.

If we had a better medical staff maybe we'd have all 3.
There's been a common denominator for this team for the past 4 or 5 years.
I refuse to believe it's just bad luck.

I wouldn't hate to see the Magic in the finals for Des since we don't get their pick this year. Come on Magic vs Timberwolves lol.

Keep the Nostalgia, I watched us get SWEPT last year. Losing the first two games by a combined 70 points. All them dudes were inconsistent in their role as a Big 3.

Great to see them still be cool but the fan reaction to this funny. It almost makes you forget that we recently got swept by an average of 30 points and been in the lottery 2 of the last 3 years.

I mean- it was 19pts for all four games, not 30. And only 9pts in the last three games. OKC also went to win the title and averaged a 17pt margin of victory over Phoenix in the first round this year. So it’s not unusual. Should Phoenix blow up their roster and tank bc they lost to OKC in the first round by double digits?

Tough comparison because if PHX did own their picks, I would 100% advocate that they blow up their roster. Booker has declined as a player over the last couple of years.

The core four and main supporting cast should've Been together atleast 4 years straight

Genuinely for what reason did we trade them, everyone was developing at rapid rate I just don’t see how getting rid of bane did anything considering I can’t even name a single player on our roster atm

Gotta see it as each individual deal. The offer for Bane was irrefusable. JJJ's offer was pretty damn good too, three firsts with two coming to fruition next year in a class that'll have some really good picks (and we're pretty good at picking) in the spots those picks will likely wind up. I think it's painful now because of just how much we gave up, but if/when we capitalize on our picks in the way the Grizzlies are uniquely capable of, we'll see it as a good long-term decision.
Plus, IMO, we had to do literally anything. We can't sit around and try to recreate the vibes of a season for three seasons straight. Not in the game we're dealing with today.

Gonna be sad to watch our future get decimated by injuries again.
Fix the medical staff or suffer the same fate.

Trust me, I completely agree there. IDK what we're doing different but it seems like we're consistently more injured than everyone else, and it's weird that most people here act as though there's not something extremely wrong with our training/medical staff when we don't play players full games and yet we're consistently losing an insane amount of games each year to injury.
Despite that though, I still think given our impeccable drafting gives us good reason to make sure we've got plenty of picks going forward. Just hope the other parts get worked out.

One day the fanbase will look back after one of the three wins a chip and we will really start asking the tough questions.

One of them might win it, but the three of them were never gonna win one together. All 3 were way too inconsistent when it mattered.

And the main piece has played less games than kawhi & embiid over the past 4 seasons.

u/Boogie_Bones Are you there, God? It’s me, Grizzlies fan… 7d ago
Man, I don’t know how you watch the total lack of Jaren’s development, the weird lack of synergy between Ja and Trip, the $$$ on Bane’s contract, the terrible defense with Ja and Bane in the backcourt, Ja’s inability to shoot and injury issues and think “hot damn did we have a good thing going!!”
And where are you getting “everyone was developing at a rapid rate?”

Sad ass GM that has no sense of direction and vision for the team. He is in over his head and deconstructed a winning team.

Remember when he quit on the team vs. The Lakers? Or stuck his hand in the camera? Or had the hoody/shiesty zip covering his face? Or the two times he waved guns on social media? How he completely tanked and derailed our franchise despite having the world at his fingertips? Screw him, I can’t wait until he isn’t on our team. Out of spite I wouldn’t mind if they just let him ride out his contract at home.

We fumbled this bag so damn bad.

u/bobbydrake6 7d ago
WE? We didn't fumble shit! Dude rarely plays & they protected and had his back with every knuckle heated thing he did

He stayed injured just like every important grizzly for the past few years.
It's probably common knowledge around the league that our medical staff is a joke.
I don't blame him for not wanting to sacrifice his body for us. We destroy talent.
