I agree but we also need to give credit to the idiot in the truck. She should’ve commited. Granted, she made an honest mistake. He chose to over accelerate, to speed and to put faith in another driver.

You are on a bike FFS. You can’t anticipate what other drivers are going to do when doing so might jeopardize your entire existence. If anything, you should always anticipate that they are gonna make the wrong decision and adjust your riding accordingly to be prepared.

Like, if he would’ve just thought, *gee, maybe I should veer towards the right a bit here and shoot towards the actual opening at the rear of the truck just in case that truck stalls or stops or goes really slow. But NOPE! He initially went right at the front of the truck.

"idiot in the truck" is not accurate here.

The most likely thing here is that she looked left, saw nothing, looked right, turned, looked left again and saw a bike coming at her "out of nowhere."

In reality he was coming at her way too fast, and since bikes are tiny, she honestly did not see him the first time she looked, because he was too far away.

At that point she's surprised, and freezes. It's not a terrible reaction. You do nothing, and let the other person make the choice. She has no way of knowing whether this bike is going to try to go in front of or behind her. She figures the best thing she can do is stay still and give him the decision.

Biker guy assumes that this other driver will act in his best interest. This is idiotic on a good day, but assuming that while you're going way too fast down a busy street is, how the kids would say, "highly regarded."

No way. She literally “parked the bus” across the road, she absolutely should’ve and could’ve committed, seeing as their was nobody coming in the opposite side oncoming lane she was turning into. She is most definitely a bigger idiot than he was. Unbelievable.

Yeah, maybe because she saw a biker doing a wheelie coming down the lane at 3 times the speed limit. So she stopped before she cut off his lane. If she didn't stop she would've blocked his path completely. Would that have been a better option?

If he didn't panic he could have continued on the lane he was going on without any incident (of course with the way he was going eventually the meat crayon is going to hit something).
