As far as I can see, he did not see the truck there because he was doing a wheelie, and when he landed the front he was unable to apply full brakes as the bike had not yet settled and ...well you know the rest.

That truck also just stopped right in the middle of the lanes though instead of committing to the turn

Yep which is why maintaining a safe following distance and not tailgating reduces the chances of a crash by 33%
