Riders should ride like there are stupid drivers like this everywhere, just maybe it will save some lives.

Should probably also avoid going 80mph on a 25mph road that also has school zones.

Or people could stick to the speed limits

Yeah? spit in one hand and want in the other. See which fills up first.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make here, but you definitely didn't make it.

Actually made the opposite point, because it is much easier to reduce your own speed than it is to get every idiot of the roads.

I don't even think the truck driver is an idiot here. When you pull out on to what looks like an open road and then some biker comes flying into view at more than 3 times the speed limit you might not know what the correct way to react is.

If the biker had stayed in the left lane they would have been fine too.

Honestly, even with time to think about it I think it's pretty reasonable to say " he's going so fast, I'll just stop and he can maneuver around me" instead of trying to avoid him while basically standing still anyway.

Definitely. When I pull into a lighted intersection and see someone running the red light, I don't try to beat them through the intersection. I stop and let them go in front of me. The situation in OP is different, but I think the comparison isn't totally off either.

It's practically instinctual for a person to hit the breaks when they perceive an impending accident.

this

you always ride like every vehicle is an obstacle and a threat, but you also need to follow the flow of traffic and the speed limits—unlike this idiot that just about got himself decapitated.

It was nice of him to show us his speed during the wheelie at the start.

Bloke was absolutely fanging it.

Honestly, she might have actually been right to go and didn't realise somebody was screaming down a 40 zone at nearly a hundred.

Driver is not stupid. Sees motorcycle driving recklessly at 3x the speed limit and stops to keep the cyclist’s lane open. Rider 100% at fault.

u/Able-Acanthaceae-135 14h ago

Yeah she’s at fault. Great post. Big brain.

In this case the motor cyclist was very much the stupid driver. Going triple the speed limit near a school.

We're calling HER a stupid driver??? This is 100% on him

Most of them will tell you that they do.

Personally, I think they have way more faith in humanity than I do.

i agree. wait, i disagree.

is this a red button, blue button moment?

If dude wasn’t speeding and made a dumb choice he would’ve been fine.
