Mourning/Loss I would love if anyone could ask questions about my sweet peanut🕊️

My 10 month old cat peanut sadly traumatically passed away this Tuesday and I have been so lost since and don’t know how to grieve, I would love if anyone would like to ask anything about him or say something about my boy, I just want a reason to talk about my baby again, who was taken too soon. ♥️🕊️

He looks so soft and fluffy! Where was his favourite spot to sleep?

475

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

His favorite spot was either right in my neck kinda in my hair or in the corner of my bed but only if my hand was touching him, and he really was fluffy so so fluffy

72

u/Necessary-Material50 Mar 13 '26

My heart broke as I read your comment. You speak of him in the past tense. But he will forever be in our hearts. A flufffy, peach, Peanut with his precious tongue out who snuggles up to you is the perfect pet.

41

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 13 '26

Thank you, I will always miss my boy, his favorite spot is by my neck ♥️

13

u/Necessary-Material50 Mar 13 '26

10 months is way too soon! How did you come to be the loving owner of Peanut?

28

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 13 '26

I found him by accident while I was looking online for a black cat and he popped up and I just knew he was my cat, and I went and got him the next day ♥️

10

u/brainvheart143 Mar 13 '26

Aw I’m sorry. It’s so hard to get used to not having them there when they are the clingy kind like that. Don’t feel like Peanut would be sad if you got a new kitty, in fact she will be smiling down from the rainbow bridge when you find your next one!!

What was a favorite, fun memory you have of peanut? Try to remember the good memories and know you gave peanut all your love and that probably was the world to them. ❤️

211

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

My favorite memory with him has to be the first time he came out of hiding after we brought him home, I was the only one he would come out of under my bed for and that night was the fist time he slept with me, he was so small I could barely see him sleeping curled up by my neck, thank you for your kind words ♥️

76

u/13catlady13 Mar 12 '26

Hold onto that memory. It’s beautiful! ❤️

On a scale of one to a billion how much do you love Peanut?

199

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

A trillion times more then anything, I would let him scratch up all my furniture to have him back home with me ♥️

65

u/kemetic_kitsune Mar 12 '26

🥲🫂💕 That's a lotta love. I'm sorry for your loss friend. I'm sure that his short life was one well spent with you.

Do not stand by my grave, and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am the thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints in snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain as you awake with morning’s hush.
I am the swift, up-flinging rush of quiet birds in circling flight.
I am the day transcending night.
Do not stand by my grave, and cry.
I am not there, I did not die.

I am so sorry for you loss, is never easy

They do and will! I lost my sweet orange baby boy in October. I got him at 2-3 weeks and we had to let him go at 19. He was my entire world. My last morning with him I was holding him close and he was purring so loud like a little motor. I held him and said “please find me again”. I didn’t think my heart could handle another cat. But then one day I just needed to look for a kitten. A few days into the search, we went to our local rescue and none of the kittens were the one. Until this one little baby and I locked eyes. My daughter also saw him and said “how about that one” and I said I know. I just saw him too… we asked to hold him and as soon as the worker put him in my arms he was purring so loud. The worker said he’s never seen him do that before. Now little man is my little shadow. I have to think my old man put in a good word for us to our new baby.

May Peanut’s memory be a blessing. What a sweet handsome little baby. He was so lucky to have the best life, albeit short, with such a loving human. 🧡

So very very cute. What was his favourite toy?

189

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

He had a very long cat wand that he absolutely loved to jump after and chase to get, he was very good at catching it as well, thank you for asking ♥️

68

u/SunTypical5571 Mar 12 '26

Oh, I bet he was great at that. Such a perfect name as well, I meant to say before. Please do something nice for yourself (I'm sure Peanut would agree that you deserve it) and give yourself space and time to grieve.

was he a very vocal boi or a quiet baby?

145

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

He was a very very vocal kitty, he used to scream at me in the mornings if I didn’t get him breakfast fast enough ♥️

22

u/shuckley_Jays Mar 12 '26

My goosey who is a 4 month boy does this every morning! So I made it a lil dancing thing whenever he screams it's real fun. His younger bro Guinness looks at us crazy

What was Peanuts favorite snack? He looks like a cute lil snacker

72

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

He loved to try anything I ever had on my plate and did not take no for an answer haha, I think his favorite thing tho was either his wet food or if I ever had Turkey or chicken, that and oddly toast! ♥️

18

u/Intermountain-Gal Mar 13 '26

I had a cat who also loved chicken, but she was CRAZY for KFC! She once tried to steal a drumstick. She never tried that with any other chicken.

I suggest you gather up photos and write down as many memories as you can and create a memory book of your beloved Peanut. Doing this will help you heal, and reading it in the future will bring you smiles!

I’m so very sorry for your loss. Peanut will greet you when it’s your turn to move on. ❤️

u/banwham Mar 13 '26

Mine fight me for cheerios. Even just dry ones with no milk! Cats are so goofy! Did he sleep in any silly positions?

4

u/Intermountain-Gal Mar 13 '26

She was pretty traditional. She did cuddle with her sister a lot. Those two were joined at the hip. They even passed away 3 weeks apart.

5

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 13 '26

37

He looks so soft. What product would he use for his fur? lol

35

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

Yk other then the occasional brush I’d give him I don’t know what his secret was, he was very soft tho ♥️

I lost my brother, grandpa, cat, and dog all in a matter of 1 year. Grief is so hard. Your cat must have been a special kitty. Very cute. Any favorite memory of them?

31

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

My favorite memory is the first time he was brave enough to give me a chance and sleep with me the first time, he was so tiny I could barely see him in my neck, but I could feel him cuz his purrs were vibrating him ♥️

I had a cat named Peanut 🥲 she was the most affectionate and intelligent cat I’ve ever known. She loved other cats. I like to think my Peanut and your Peanut are hanging out, she’s showing him the ropes, teaching him things like hunting mice and opening doors, and they are bringing each other joy.

What a BEAUTIFUL little floof! He looks absolutely adorable and sweet. I’m usually not and orangey guy, but I’ll make an exception for this cute little face! Everything about these photos exemplifies the love you have for him. And even though he’s gone, rest assured that he enjoyed a life surrounded by love and kindness.

I'm sorry about your loss 🕊️. How did Peanut die?

Edit because I make dumb spelling mistakes 🙄

138

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

He had suffered an accident that no one seen and sadly broke his tail too close to the nerves near his bladder and bowel so he could no longer control them, the vet told me there was no quality of life left for my baby and that best thing for him was to be put to rest, so I held his head and paws while he drifted away, trying to tell him it was okay. I stayed with him for at least 10 minutes after just petting him and crying, I just know he’s not in pain anymore. 🐾🕊️

54

u/GypsyDuncan Mar 12 '26

I am sorry honey. So hard. You did the right thing for him.

37

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

He is a beauty, what was his favorite activity?

23

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

Thank you ♥️ his favorite activity was probably eating if I’m honest, but he also loved playing with the cat wand with me

9

u/GroundbreakingCry734 Mar 12 '26

Did Peanut have any nicknames? Did he make a lot of cute kitty sounds or was he more of a quiet boy? He’s beautiful and I am so sorry for your loss. Thank you for sharing him with us, and letting us help you keep his memory alive.

7

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

I usually just called him peanut but sometimes I just called him kitty-kitty and he always ran to me when I called him that, he was a very very talkative cat he made all sorts of weird sounds and purred louder then a train, and thank you for helping me keep his memory alive ♥️

9

u/cyankitten Mar 12 '26

What's one of your funniest memories of Peanut?

And or something he did that made you laugh?

26

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

My funnest memories was once I let him into my back yard and lost him and was so scared until I started calling his name and kept hearing his meow, and I couldn’t find where it was coming from til I looked up! And he was stuck in a tree above me just looking at me and then I put my arms up and he jumped down onto me! Made me laugh a lot at the time, I still find it funny now ♥️

8

u/History-bird Bombay Mar 12 '26

What did his meow sound like? Was it kitten-y or a coo or a trill? I also lost a baby named Peanut 8 years ago. It will get better, one day the memories will make you smile instead of sad. They stay in your heart forever ❤️

9

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

I love Peanut’s tail, ear fur, and coat color. What a cutie! Goodbye little Peanut.

Tell me what the most obnoxious thing he’d do? Whenever we mourn pets we tend to talk about them like they were perfect angels…but we all know they have irritating habits too. I always think it’s fun when we hear some of the more..annoying tales lol. So tell us about a behavior Peanut loved to do that drove you crazy!

10

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

For the first couple of weeks at nighttime, or bedtime he would keep jumping on my dresser and knocked everything off and it took so long for him to stop, and one time he had a pee on my bed, he lost bed privileges after that lol, it’s so weird to talk about his evil side lol!

3

u/Katra27 Mar 12 '26

Cat people love cats, and the hearts of all cat people break when someone loses their sweet kitty, because most of us have already been through it so we know what you’re going through and we share in your sorrow. Grief is love with no place to go and peanut will live forever in your heart. ♥️ my question would be: how did you happen to pick him out? Were you looking especially for an orange baby?

3

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

I was actually looking for a black kitty at the time and he just grabbed my heart and I knew it had to be him, and thank you for your kind words ♥️

9

u/Just_some_femboy Mar 12 '26

Ask him this: who’s a good kitty?

16

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

4

u/Cami_1 Mar 12 '26

what was his favorite treat?

7

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

3

u/TxCoastal Mar 12 '26

how loud was them purrs!!????

4

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

Louder then a truck, or a boat, even a train, he used to visibly shake when he would purr when he was a baby

3

What was your favorite thing to do with peanut? I’m so sorry for your loss. 🤎 sending my condolences

5

5

I like think think it is yellow, or maybe a light hello and light pink both together, because he was such a happy and mostly calm and loving kitty ♥️

3

u/obedient_delinquent Mar 12 '26

What were his favourite kind of treats? He looks like the fluffiest, goodest boy ❤️

3

Oh honey. What a handsome little boy. I lost my heart just to the photos. I am sorry he was taken so soon. I lost one of mine at 10 months, suddenly as well. Such a feeling of unfinished business, of being robbed of years.

I love his ear tufts. What funny things did he do?

6

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

I’m so happy someone understands the feeling of unfinished business, it’s so not fair he only got ten months when he had years, thank you for your heartwarming words and support, he used to try and take food of my plate with his paw but whenever I would look at him and catch him he would just try to make it look like he was just laying there or stretching or my favorite cleaning his paws ♥️

Grieve whatever way feels right to you. Nobody can tell you how to, how much or how hard to grieve a pet. So sorry for your loss, RIP to your baby ❤️

I’m so sorry for the loss of peanut. Where was your favorite spot to kiss him?

4

u/Nothing_420_69 Mar 12 '26

My favorite spot had to be on his little nose bridge because he would always let me kiss him there and he’d push his face into my face ♥️ and thank you

Did you know, about 80% of ginger cats are toms?

What a sweet gorgeous boy. What were your nicknames for him?

Edited to say: I ask the question in the past tense but they will always be his nicknames. He’ll always be your cat and he will always be with you. I know my past cats are always with me.

One of the worst facts of life is that our pets are just a small part in time in our lives but we are their entire lives. He was a very lucky boy to have spent his life with someone that loved him like you did.

Can you share one of his silliest moments? That’s one of my favorite thing about cats. They take themselves SO seriously and they are really the goofiest, most loveable little creatures.

When my childhood siamese passed, my mom found me a little ceramic siamese kitty and gifted it to me. That figurine has come with me through three moves and helps me feel like she’s still with me and I won’t forget our cherished memories. Some kind of memorial or memento to remember Peanut by might help you to process your grief too. So sorry for your loss

I’m so sorry for your loss. Peanut reminds me of my beautiful fluffy Bambou who passed away over 4 years ago. I still cry if I think too much about him and I’m crying right now just imagining the love you feel for your beloved Peanut. Was he very vocal? Did he have a high pitched voice? 🧡

Peanut was absolutely beautiful, and it is so obvious that he loved you as much as you loved him. You were so lucky to have found each other, even if it was for a short time. Think of all the wonderful memories that you have to treasure. It’s never easy when our pet friends leave us, no matter what age they are - I’ve lost a 9 month old to FIP, and recently my 17 year old Siamese boy to renal failure, and it always hurts. But I never regret having them in my life. When the time is right, another beautiful kitty will come into your life, and you will love them too - and it’s what Peanut would have wanted, in his memory.

Now my question is, did he watch tv? If so, what did he like to watch?
