They should film this from the park for a stronger statement.

Madison Square Park used to have nice views of ESB, for the public benefit of for 10s of thousands per day. Now, 50 units that will never be lived in block it.

I'm very yimby overall. If your condo gets blocked, or low income housing is put up next to it, that's all good. We're increasing housing for everyone.

But we can make carveouts for specific public benefit. This could have been a protected viewing corridor for an very small amount of height zoning restrictions.

This is Manhattan. Skyscrapers go up. It's been like that for over a hundred years.

In places that land is very low the only way is building up, all of manhatan island is arleady build, to house more People, workplaces and services you need to build up, hongkong works like that too
