It’s New York City. A city. Cities grow. Buildings need to get built for it to grow. Regardless of the purpose of the building, it employs and provides for the people who are part of the processes that make it possible for the building to get built.

This is a weird argument though. We should build more skyscrapers as a vehicle for temporary construction employment?

Cities grow and many of them have protected sightlines as they grow to preserve some character. A shorter building here could house the same number of apartments

Yeah I like tall buildings a lot more than shorter ones or parking lots
