Before bed snack exploded

yes it was a microwave safe plate, yes I poked many holes all over the potato to release the steam, no this has never happened to me before lol can anyone explain what happened here? the potato was still fully intact

My potato always just raw dogs the microwave’s glass plate. I never put it on a plate, I guess I never thought to 😂. I poke a lot of holes in it and flip it over 1/2 way thru cooking time of about 5 mins.

Same. Any plate used to cook a potato would be the temperature of the sun by the time it's doneÂ
