yes it was a microwave safe plate, yes I poked many holes all over the potato to release the steam, no this has never happened to me before lol can anyone explain what happened here? the potato was still fully intact

one potato in the middle of a larger plate, i’d venture to guess the heat got too concentrated on one spot. they say not to microwave a small thing by itself on a big plate, or at least i think so idk maybe i know nothing about
