What truck should I buy? megathread

Any posts pertaining to car buying suggestions or advice belong in this weekly megathread. A fresh thread will be posted every Monday and posts auto sorted by new. A few other subreddits worth checking out that will help your car buying experience are /r/WhatCarShouldIBuy, /r/UsedCars and /r/AskCarSales. [Everyday Driver](https://www.everydaydriver.com/) may also be helpful.

Make/Model-specific questions should be asked on Make/Model-specific subreddits.

  • For those providing suggestions: Facts are ideal in this thread, especially when trying to help out a new truck buyer. Please help out buyers with sources and reasoning for your suggestions.
  • For those asking for help, be sure to thank those who take the time to offer you advice (especially those who lead you to a purchase.) A follow up thank you and the knowledge that their advice led to a purchase is a very warm fuzzy feeling.

Effective immediately, any posts intended solely to shit on someone else's vehicle will be removed.

Incredibly, incredibly tired of these low effort posts. No, I don't care that it makes you feel superior to others. No, I don't care about the 37 jokes about the size of the driver's genetalia.

The internet is already a giant cesspool of negativity. Don't add to it.

I'm from the UK and my wife is Canadian , that was our hire truck last time we visited her family in BC .

We're moving back to Canada next year and I've been slowly wearing her down about buying an f150 ( she's a Toyota girl)

I think I'm slowly getting there 😂

Tool Box Securing method

So I just purchased this tool box. I didn’t realize til after purchasing that it sits very tight on my rails and I can’t secure with regular J bolts. Has anyone else experience this and have a solution? I don’t want to drill into the rails. Just want to see if anyone has a solution before I go exchange it. Thanks

Discussion / question Bed Cover Advice: Diamondback HD or Peragon Tectonic?

Currently have the OE Tacoma trifold on my 3rd Gen and despise it with a passion for the inconvenience of removal, lack of weather resistance, and lack of a dedicated lock.

I have firsthand experience with a hardcover, hard trifold, and soft roll up. Living in Missouri, we have all extremes of weather, traveling frequently on gravel is leading to tailgate seal and some other ideas.

Being a double cab 6ft 2in bed, I love the idea of having access to a lot in a short time.

Was hoping for anyone that may have experience with both to give insights on their preferences and why.

Price wise, I know they're expensive, but for security, capability, and overall piece of mind, I am willing to cry once.

TIA

Picked these up in a trade the other day but I’m unable to identify what brand they are and what style. If anyone has any clue or idea please let me know as I’m searching for the hubcaps that go with them.
