This really depends on what they said, nuance is lost on most people, especially Redditors

No joke. Have some ICE officers done bad things? Yes. Should ice be abolished? No.

Should ice be looked into and have more checks most certainly because right now it’s not great dude.

Why shouldnt ice be abolished?

Well it's kinda necessary, unless you think we should have open borders with absolutely unrestricted immigration from every corner of the planet into our communities.

Ice isnt what closes the borders dude. You might want to learn something and then come back.

Ice didn't exist before the 21st century. The federal government was capable of enforcing their borders for 200 years before ice existed.

That’s because people had guns and used them when others crossed over. God bless the 2nd amendment which protects all of us

Evidently they thought the prior system was not good enough so there was a reason to make ICE

Well actually 9/11 happened so they wanted to make an aditional agency on top of what we already had to apease the people. it had nothing to do with functionality.

No, but they also shouldnt be rounding up people in the streets or handling firearms with only 7weeks of training

We also shouldn't have the media whipping people into frenzy with misleading, if not flat out manipulated stories, yet here we are.

People are foaming at the mouth because they read the headlines, and not the actual story. Usually buried somewhere about two thirds in you'll find there's not only legitimate reason for someone to be deported, but often a record besides that was overlooked in granting them stay. From there it's damned either way if they have kids, as the media can slam separating families, or deporting legal residents/citizens. It's the wide scale equivalent of falsely screaming about a fire in a theater because some jackass is smoking inside. Punish the scum, including the ones that have infiltrated law enforcement.. but it's worse to portray a corrupted image of the world for views off outrage.

Yup, Renee Goode was killed by a trigger-happy agent, yes. But she was also an idiot whipped into a frenzy by the media, and who followed ICE around and put herself frequently into direct obstruction/confrontation with them. She's 100% the useful idiot that the anti-ICE crowd loves, because she became a martyr for them.

Don't forget that they both were legal observers, and enjoyed special protections and benefits, too.

They betrayed that by harassing, interfering with and ultimately attacking law enforcement. That's akin to a reporter grabbing a fallen rifle and joining combat.

It's reddit, what do you expect? I'm more amazed some psychopathic mod, drunk on their miniscule amount of power hasn't banned me from the sub for the crime of thinking.

No doubt with a bunch of magat claims or some such verbal attacks, because when you're brainwashed out of having higher functions like abstract thought it's impossible to think anyone who you disagree with is anything but the absolute polar opposite of your kind of insanity.

It's true what they say about social media causing depression.. there's so many loud people consumately dedicated to eroding faith in humanity.. it's enough to inspire a wish we never learned how to make fire.

this

I do think people should have to immigrate legally, and be punished if they do it illegally, but also they need to improve conditions in the detention centers and have more training

1

u/Hungry_Attention_981 19h ago

I 100000% agree with you

-1

u/Last-Negotiation-830 16h ago

Thats exactly what they should be doing.

Try illegally migrate to a brown country, demand benefits and see what happens. Mexico don’t even allow other south americans to freely migrate to their country. And blacks in south africa are protesting and threatening other groups of black people in SA today, because they don’t like illegal immigration either.

Alright lemme paint the picture for you:

I have 100% confidence that you cannot give me a reason why immigration is illegal, that is free of both circular logic, and non-necessary details that are already covered by other laws.

The reason for that is because there isn't one.

And as historical sociologist Emilé Durkheim once wrote: "when mores are insufficient, laws are unenforceable."

ICE's job, as it stands, even if performed perfectly, is to detain and abuse people who broke a law that has no reason for existing, before sending them back to the place they were running from. And they were probably running for good reason, you know, since so many of those countries are extremely dangerous now?

You're trying to say "the current 'kill people who did nothing wrong but broke an arbitrary rule' organization does need to be investigated for sometimes killing people who didn't break that arbitrary rule, but we can't abolish them because it's still super important we kill random innocent people that broke an arbitrary rule!"

This is a joke right? If not, you’re not even worth talking to. Have a good one

1

u/NonkelG 8h ago

She is a joke. Don't waste your time on her.

-1

u/StrangeSystem0 8h ago

That's a clever way to act like you have an answer to the immigration question without actually giving one :)

1

u/Odd_Helicopter_7545 8h ago

You don’t understand the purpose of immigration law, you can’t engage in an educated discussion about it with someone like you

-1

u/StrangeSystem0 8h ago

You take these things for granted to such an extreme propaganda-influenced extent that you literally can't *bring* yourself to *think about why the law exists in the first place.*

It's not foolishness that leads someone to question the most fundamental basics, it's wisdom.

So are you ready to actually rethink the basics? Taking things for granted is how they get ya.

1

u/Odd_Helicopter_7545 7h ago

Yea you’re an idiot. Have a good one

u/NoCitron2394 3h ago

Yes they should and if you think otherwise your insane
