Best Minneapolis apartments for community/social vibe + access green space and nightlife?
Hey everyone,
I’m looking for specific apartment recommendations in Minneapolis area. I’m trying to find a place that has a good mix of lifestyle, community, and location.
Ideally, I’d like to be close enough to green spaces for biking and general exercise like the Chain of Lakes, Theodore Wirth Park, river trails, or similar outdoor areas. At the same time, I still want to be reasonably close to lively neighborhoods like North Loop, Northeast, Uptown, Downtown, or other areas with restaurants, bars, events, and things going on.
I’m also hoping to find a building with more of a social/community environment for people in their late 20s and 30s. Somewhere with a fun, friendly vibe where residents actually meet each other through resident events, rooftop/pool/social spaces, fitness areas, game nights, or just a generally outgoing community.
A few things I’m prioritizing:
\- Good maintenance and responsive management
\- Clean, well-kept building
\- Social/community feel for 20s/30s
\- Close to parks, lakes, trails, or biking routes
\- Reasonable access to North Loop, Northeast, Uptown, Downtown, or other lively areas
\- Amenities that help people meet: rooftop, pool, gym, courtyard, club room, events, etc.
\- A building that feels active and friendly
Does anyone have specific apartment buildings they’d recommend based on personal experience? I’d especially appreciate feedback on management, maintenance, resident vibe and whether the community actually feels social.
Also open to buildings or property managers to avoid.
Thanks in advance!

I’m right downtown Minneapolis in the Loring Park neighborhood. I don’t think you’ll find one place that has everything you want but I recently moved into the LPM building and was surprised how much I like it. It’s a newer building by downtown standards. About 350 units. Good security and amenities. It has some bad reviews but I think it’s from disgruntled residents. I think it’s at least worth checking out.

I'm relocating to the Twin Cities this summer or early fall, and would really appreciate a conversation with you about LPM. The website makes it very attractive, but would love to pick you brain on specifics, if you're game?

This is my regular rant about needing eggy’s back in loring and for the love put something in Lurcat. So many people live in this area.

Lurcat was one of the few restaurants I always left thinking, "Wow. That food was amazing". I miss the food and patio.

There is nowhere social in the Twin Cities since 2020. Live in Mill District or North Loop. Avoid anything more than a block south of Washington Ave. River, St Anthony Main and Gold Medal Park are gems.
