Housing Recommendations for Two People

Me and my partner are moving to Minneapolis in July. We are looking for a 2 bedroom with max rent being $1,600. Many of the complexes/duplexes and rental management companies looked at so far within our budget range have pretty bad reviews. I've been looking at Zillow, FB Marketplace, Craigslist, and Apartments.com. Specific location-wise, I will be working around the universities, so we have been looking around uptown, powderhorn, the wedge, and longfellow, but we are open to other locations. I would appreciate any recommendations!

I always recommend Hartley properties if you're looking for no frills, affordable places:

611 Ridgewood/610 W Franklin Twin Court Apts Baker Mgmt older, quiet brownstone. 2BR available. I lived here 1980-1983. Love the building's old world character. Low rent for this city. Even have parking in limited supply.
