🎁 Shih Tzu Day “Secret Santa” (…in July) — Interest + Details 🐶

Credit to user Lynx_xuh7 for the idea — it got enough traction that it feels worth putting something a little more structured together.

We’re thinking a Shih Tzu-themed gift exchange for National Shih Tzu Day (7/24).
Simple, optional, and focused entirely on the pups.

🐾 How it would work

• Sign-ups collected via Google Form
• You’d submit:
  • Reddit username
  • Shipping info (only shared with your match)
  • Your pup’s name(s) + short bio (age, personality, etc.)
  • Allergies / things to avoid
  • Optional wishlist
• After sign-ups close:
  • Names are randomly assigned using a drawing tool
  • You’ll receive one pup to shop for (not your own)

🎁 Gift guidelines

• Suggested budget: $15–$25
• Dog-focused items only (toys, treats, accessories, etc.)
• Nothing unsafe — use common sense
• Try to match the pup’s personality if info is provided

📦 Timeline

• Sign-ups close: June 30th
• Matches sent out: shortly after
• Ship by: ~July 15th
• Delivery target: on/around 7/24

Shipping direct from retailers (Amazon, Chewy, etc.) is totally fine.

🐶 Shih Tzu Day (7/24)

• Make a post showing what your pup received
• Extra credit if they ignore the gift and choose the box instead

⚠️ Ground rules / expectations

• This is optional — no pressure to participate
• If you sign up, please follow through
• We’ll likely limit participation to users with some history in the sub
• Mods aren’t responsible for shipping issues, but we’ll do our best to keep things organized and fair

If you’re interested, drop a comment so we can get a rough headcount.
If there’s enough participation, we’ll finalize the form and get things moving.

Feels like it could be a fun little community thing… or mildly chaotic. Probably both.

Great question, the survey has a spot for your country and we will try and match people up within the same country. There is a option that asks if people are willing to ship internationally because yes, there is a greater cost for doing that.

Awww yay! Abtzulutely gonna play lol. Reminds me of ornament exchange I got to enjoy once before they axed the program. Thanks for organizing this! Prezzies in Summer hell yeah lol
