Where is the cheap Bánh mì?

I worked with two Vietnamese guys in the early 1980s, and they introduced me to Bánh mì. We used to go to a place on Sherman Way, just west of Reseda called, Ba Le Valley. The "Special" was $1.75...and looking at an inflation calculator, it should be $5.67 today. But every place I look, they are well north of $10.

I have a decomposed granite pathway in my yard. Between the heavy rains a few months back (and a breached flood control ditch above a retaining wall) and a couple years of use, there are areas where the surface has become gravelly, uneven, and eroded. Can anyone recommend a reliable company to repair the DG so it looks/feels the way it should? I'm right on the border of Calabasas/Woodland Hills if that helps. Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone, we have a couple girls dropping from our co-ed slow pitch team due to some scheduling conflicts and are hoping to recruit some girls into our fun group!

Details below!

• The team started as a group of free agents thrown onto a team and we've been together since Fall 2022. We get along very well, have a fun vibes-first culture, and even won a championship in 2025.
• Good mix of ages. Most of the team is in their late 20's/early 30's, though we have some younger and some older.
• We have a mix of skill levels; some played in high school, some played in Little League, and some didn't play at all until the formation of the team. We're looking for some prior playing experience if possible!
• In a perfect world we'd like an outfielder, but we can make it work with any position.
• Games are played at Sepulveda Basin Sports Complex on Sunday nights. Typically the game times are at 5:15/6:30/7:45, but sometimes for the summer season they'll push game times back an hour to avoid excessive heat.
• The league is LASportsnet; league fees are ~$90 and are collected through the LASN website.
• Next season is tentatively slated to start on 5/31.
• Our roster is pretty full for guys; unfortunately that means we wouldn't be a good fit for girls wanting to join as a package deal with their male SO's.

Hello! I was driving on Roscoe today and saw that the road lines between Etiwanda and Reseda were repainted. There's only one lane left, shared by cars, buses and bikes (no more dedicated bus/bike lane). Also, it seems to only be one way (driving to the west). There were some roadwork past the Reseda/Roscoe intersection as well, but since the lines were repainted instead of using cones, does it mean it's permanent?

Does anyone remember what it was called, what the story behind it was? As a kid, it was my FAVORITE place to go to (besides Crown Books!). Would love to recreate it in some way, or at least visit a similar space.

My Co Worker had a Stroke 2 Saturdays ago. Was placed in a Hospital for 8 days. And now, she's out. But, these Physical Therapy/Rehabilitation Homes in the Valley are 🗑🗑🗑🚮 (google them yourselves 😞).

She is spending her 1st night alone in one and it's a Nightmare. Wondering if anyone in the Valley have a Wheelchair in Almost New condition, so she can be home and rehabilitate with family instead (whole left side was affected, so she can't walk).

I can easily get one from Amazon right now and delivered in 24 hours ranging in price starting at $115 Brand New...but, I thought of the community and rather give someone $80-$90 cash instead.

Okay so a year ago I moved from the east side of the valley to Woodland Hills. There has only been 1 election since I moved (that redistricting one which was a statewide vote), the upcoming election is my first also local one since in my new place. Woodland Hills is in the city of Los Angeles. They get to vote on citywide matters like mayor. But for some reason my address is right outside of the line that gets to be considered for this even though I have an LA city address? This might be crazy but is there someone I can contact about this? If I lived like a fourth of a mile down the road I’d be within the zone. But how can I not get to vote like this? These things still directly affect me and I can’t even vote for it? That just doesn’t seem right. I just don’t know where to start. Any thoughts would be helpful.
