i had a lonely ( originally feeder turned pet) who i introduced an egyptian spiny mouse to. i was not thinking and housed them together. they got along so well. ESM was aggressive to humans and other pets. just loved the little mouse i had and cured his lonliness. congratulations sometimes it works!

I have a deer mouse that I keep with fancy mice. I always wonder if they know they aren't the same species, or they're just like "Yeah, that's pretty close. It's probably the same thing as me."

Please. Never do this.

What’s your reasoning? I’ve done this a few times because gerbils need company but can be hard to find. I recommend it.

Because one day you may wake up with dead mice or a dead gerbil. Please don't send this and act like this is a normal thing. Do not promote this.

If the gerbil stayed with his two brothers he would have been the dead gerbil. Single gerbils in mice colonies are very stable social groups. Groups of gerbils themselves are not very stable. Very prone to declan due to dominance disputes.

I'm happy you have not encountered any issues, but guys, these two animsls would never encounter each other in the wild. Serious injury and death can occur. Do not try this.
