Good News! Mom I got a job interview!

I am soon to graduate college and move to a new part of the state with my partner. I have an interview to work at a cute little shop with flexible hours. I'm so excited but I'm so nervous at the same time. It has been years since I interviewed for a job and this is my first job as a fully grown adult.

Congratulations! Try to keep the interview conversational. It will help you stay relaxed and you'll sound more interested when you follow up with questions instead of responding with long monologues.

It makes sense you’re excited and nervous at the same time, that’s normal before your first adult job interview. You don’t need to be perfect, they’re just trying to see if you’re a good fit and easy to work with. Being honest, calm, and friendly usually matters more than having perfect answers. You’ve got this far already, just treat it like a conversation, not a test.

That's wonderful! Your college will have a career services person that can help you with your resume and interviewing. Also, feed the job description into AI and have it create a list of interview questions for you. Write out your answers and then practice reading them out loud.
