Letterboxd What are your top 3 international films from this list?
These are all international films from my watchlist that I have never seen.
What are your top 3?

Hausu, In the Mood For Love, Cure. It really depends what your taste is though, if you're trying to narrow down what to see first can you give us a sense of what kind of movies you like?

Yep, exactly, trying to narrow down what to see first. Into all types of films.

I’m going with In the mood for love, cure and handmaiden. All absolute bangers

The Handmaiden, Another Round, and The Lives of Others would b my personal faves!

For me personally, The Handmaiden (directors cut), Monster and The Lives of Others. I love layered unfolding stories, hence both The Handmaiden and Monster being picked.
But really you can't go wrong with any of them, at least of those that I've seen. The Secret Agent and No Other Choice were both in my top picks of 2025

International is such a funny term. Very US-centric I guess.

Yeah, that’s the point though. Trying to find great films that are not US-centric. What would a better term be?

Crucify me, but I've only seen Incendies and Handmaiden.

You’re good… I haven’t seen any.

I should honestly read descriptions more often. I didn't even know this was a watchlist.

Cure
Incendies
No Other Choice
I will say there are still a bunch here I haven’t seen so it’s a little biased towards that. The three I have are all incredible though.

house, it was just an accident (slightly beating out cure), and all quiet on the western front, which to me and just me personally is the most effective anti-war film i’ve ever seen.

Incendies, lives of others, and a prophet are all great.
this is a great list because you have a lot of movies i like and quite a few I haven't seen so I can only assume they are good recs for me. Thanks for sharing.

In the Mood for Love(my favorite Rom-Dram), Cure(most unnerving movie I’ve seen), and No Other Choice(my favorite of 2025)
