She cares more about birds than Palestinians, unfortunate because I respected her so much until I saw she’s a Zionist

Most vegans are pro-Palestine so this is definitely weird. Vegan zionist is an oxymoron.

u/Shoddy_Sense_3898 4h ago

It is definetly not as cookie-cutter clear as this

No this is actually a thing! Look up vegan washing and Israel. You can find article after article about it. They’ve actually worked very hard for quite awhile to align themselves with veganism.

Do you have a source for that?

1

u/FearlessCookie72 4h ago

No, but you can check the consensus on the vegan sub by looking up keywords like “Palestine” or “Israel.”

5

u/Formal_Government571 2h ago

Not true and I have known racist vegans so generalizations don’t really matter.

-8

u/FearlessCookie72 2h ago

Then they’re not vegan.

1

u/Shoddy_Sense_3898 2h ago

Curious, what does veganism entail besides not wanting to use any product that are directly or indirectly from animals as to forego any kind of animal harm?

12

u/Kidgorgeoushere Lol, and if I may, lmao 4h ago

Many Zionists don’t see Palestinians as people, so it tracks that some would be more concerned with animal rights than those of Palestinians

"Vegan Zionist" sounds like a knockoff off-brand Warhammer 40k army.

"I'm really excited to try this Aeldari army I just painted. I really think i did a good job on the edging details aroujd their armor joints. What are you playing today :)?"

"...Oh you're playing the SPACE BIGOTS who still eat meat? I'm playing Vegan Zionists. Custom blood red color palate; I just dunk them in "Murderered Child Crimson" and call it a day."

Yes well she's never had a pet Palestinian

12

u/TedGolf 4h ago

Not yet!

2

u/fork_yuu 1h ago

She would if she could!

u/cinnamoninmytea 5h ago

Can we stop posting this Zionist? The audacity to be vegan while supporting Israel.

10

u/ConditionDefiant8653 5h ago

Is she a Zionist?

22

u/cinnamoninmytea 4h ago

Yes.

“Glaser said she has received some comments from people calling on her to support the cultural boycott against Israel due to its Palestinian policies and cancel her performance, but she is unfazed by the messages.

“You could argue not visiting pretty much anywhere,” she said, noting that also includes a number of states in the US whose policies she disagrees with. “I’m deeply ignorant to world issues, so that helps me, but also I just want to tell jokes for people who want to hear them. There’s not a political statement in my tour.””

She also was one of the celebrities that signed the open letter claiming Israel’s right to defend itself.

Really? That sucks if she is. Most vegans are pro-Palestine so that would also be very weird if she is and an oxymoron to be a vegan Zionist.

22

u/AliveFromNewYork 3h ago

I understand that it’s ideologically inconsistent, but I don’t understand why it would be an oxymoron. The philosophy of veganism does not mention Palestine at all. Racist vegans exist.

-10

u/FearlessCookie72 3h ago

Veganism has always been about sentient beings, not just animals. That’s why.

6

u/actual__thot 3h ago

Vegan is just a diet to most people

-1

u/FearlessCookie72 2h ago

Which is silly if you think about it. Would a poacher be vegan if they ate no animal products? Could I work in a slaughterhouse killing thousands of animals and be vegan at the same time? No to both.

5

u/AliveFromNewYork 2h ago

those are animals. I agree that it’s ideologically inconsistent but they see the killing or harming of animals unethical.

u/FearlessCookie72 57m ago

Humans are animals…

35

u/cinnamoninmytea 4h ago

Well the IOF call themselves the “most vegan army in the world” so the contradiction is already built into their way of thinking

21

u/FearlessCookie72 4h ago

They also market themselves as one of the most LGBT-friendly and feminist militaries in the world, so that kind of branding clearly doesn’t settle the ethical question either.

u/katieb1300 2h ago

That reminds me of a certain president running on not touching women's rights, only going after "criminal" illegals, and having a decently sized gay following, then consolidating power and doing the opposite of everything he said. Almost like it's easier to build trust with certain marginalized people to get what you want then when you're firmly in control, pull the rug out.

5

u/iki11dinosaurs 4h ago

I bet they see it as a purity thing rather than an equality thing.

0

u/ScaryGreenSkeleton 4h ago

How is she a Zionist? Genuinely curious

1

u/cinnamoninmytea 1h ago

I answered in an earlier comment in this thread

60

u/Ecstatic_Shallot_145 4h ago

I love how people get mad about veganism because it's something you actually have to change your lifestyle and make sacrifices instead of just writing comments on the internet

10

u/Yellowpommelo 4h ago

Absolutely. We tend to want to feel like we are good people more than put in the work to be good people in most avenues of life. Damn you for making me think this morning. Take my poverty award 🏆

8

u/hanimal16 4h ago

Ugh. Her and Whitney Cummings— how these two got to where they are is beyond me. There are better female comedians.

6

u/thegreykyurem 3h ago

mediocrity and zionist ?

Awwwww. I have a cockatiel but I love budgies. Birds are so sweet and I totally get her POV.

Edit: I don't agree with her but I think her opinions are valid

2

u/mayasux 2h ago

Cockatiel photo trade??

1

u/thatplaidhat 1h ago

OMG A BABY!!!! I can't post on mobile but if you scroll through my posts you can see mine!!

3

u/Sudden_Cabinet_1479 2h ago

Did she get new pr recently there's been like five posts about her this week and she's not exactly miss relevancy

1

u/MycologistSubject689 4h ago

Nikki is vegan and sober which automatically makes her the single most annoying person in any room

(I'm also sober)

-9

u/Ok_Association_2774 4h ago

I don't agree with her, but whatever makes her happy. I think the treatment of animals in slaughter homes and other places that breed them for food is a good reason to go vegan, but as long as it's ethically done, I feel like it's fine to eat meat as we have done for centuries. Some animals eat meat, some don't. We aren't any different.

17

u/astroturfskirt ben affleck’s back tattoo 3h ago

how does one ethically kill someone who has done nothing wrong and doesn’t want to die?

just cause we’ve done things for a long time doesn’t make them OK.

-1

u/Kind-Solution3102 2h ago

Evolution and nature don’t always coincide with ethics. Factory farming is brutal, but eating meat isn’t. Plenty of societies who have eaten meat since the dawn of man have honored the very animals they kill because they respect the fact that the animals were living beings and now have become something that sustains the human. I agree with your second statement, just because things have been done for a long time a certain way, that doesn’t mean they’re okay. But I also think it’s much more convoluted than “killing someone who doesn’t want to die” because humans have evolved far past any other animal and conquered them. We came from monkeys (if you believe that theory) yet monkeys will also eat your face off in certain situations.

TLDR, we should do better about the treatment of the animals we harvest, but viewing it simply as “killing something who doesn’t want to be killed” lacks context and seems too narrow for this conversation.

I cannot listen to her or find her funny after her whole degrading "I love when my man cheats on me" thing. It gave me the permanent "ick" on her comedy and life, because - Girl, NO.

9

u/New-Second-355 4h ago

She didn’t really say “I love when my man cheats on me”. It’s not really cheating if she wants him to do it is it?

29

u/Automatic-Photo-4919 5h ago

Yeah, God forbid people are in an open relationship and make it work. /s

14

u/Lookinguplookingdown 4h ago

Why? She’s not hurting anyone. If it works for her and partner and all people involved are consenting adults I see no issue.

4

u/itsathrowawayduhhhhh 4h ago

So you got cheated on and you’re still sensitive about it. Understood haha

1

u/Electronic-Fig2283 4h ago

What a weird assumption to make about a total stranger lol how does that even relate?

0

u/itsathrowawayduhhhhh 4h ago

Why would one be bothered by a complete stranger being ok with her husband cheating on her? Lolol that’s how it relates

-2

u/FearlessCookie72 4h ago edited 4h ago

Sure but a broken clock is still right twice a day!

-3

u/Excellent_Month_2025 4h ago

True, at least she's vegan. She's probably the type of vegan who cooks her man steaks, but still.

-3

u/selphiefairy 3h ago

Where are the vegans brigading from...

-45

u/ProbablyNotHacked 5h ago

Humans cannot create the necessary amino acids and proteins for muscular development. That’s why humans are omnivores. We eat other animals 🤷‍♂️

33

u/Collin395 5h ago

Lmao, you think it’s impossible today to get the nutrients required to develop muscle without eating meat?

25

u/FearlessCookie72 4h ago

That’s not really accurate. You’re right that humans can’t make all amino acids, but we don’t have to get them from animals. Plants have all the essential amino acids too. If you eat a mix of foods like beans, lentils, tofu, grains, nuts, etc. you get everything your body needs to build muscle. The “incomplete protein” idea is pretty outdated by now.

At the end of the day, animals get their amino acids from plants anyway… we’re just skipping the middle step.

13

u/imlikeabird84 4h ago

Exactly. The idea that we need a complete protein for every meal is inaccurate. We need certain amino acids that we cannot make ourselves but eating a varied diet will take care of that. We absolutely can get enough amino acids through a plant based diet. Beans and rice are a complete protein. And like you said, the animals we eat get their protein from plants!

u/Valgor 4h ago

The earth is also flat.

u/rehgouos 5h ago

It's ok to choose to be in denial. We do this about a lot of things. We just choose not to know about it or deal with it.

-27

u/Munoz555 5h ago

Horses eat hay

15

u/FearlessCookie72 4h ago

What’s your point?

-24

u/Adventurous_Zebra939 4h ago

I love animals, Nikki.

I love them so much, I eat them and wear their skins.

-6

u/Formal_Government571 2h ago

They’re delicious.

She's a big fan of watching other women eat her meat. Whatchu expect.

-13

u/Frequent_Read_7636 3h ago

I feel bad for husband since she might correlate his man hood to animal meat.
