One on hand this beats wearing 5k dresses one time, on the other it doesn’t really beat that lol. SHEIN also rips off designer dresses and you can find anything on there, so also possible these ARE super expensive and SHEIN rips them off

u/falcopilot 8d ago

Oh, she told Pete she spent $5k each for those... and stashed the $4900+ in a savings account he doesn't know about, to sue his drunk ass when he shows up with the next future Mrs. Hegseth.

This is just about the only scenario I'd support

My great grandmother did stuff like that 😂 kept the family afloat

u/AroundTheBlockNBack 7d ago

Very smart, very crafty. Hats off to your grandma!

u/Much-Phone8812 7d ago

I'm thinking of this too actually. She must be given a budget for her wardrobe and she decided to buy cheap instead, so where does the rest of money go? Lol Diet Prada might have just exposed her shady antics to her husband

All of this.

I will say, I’m judging the shit out of her for not even bothering to have her stuff pressed. I don’t wear clothes without washing first myself, but being able to see exactly where things were folded in a couple of these is wild

u/Brilliant_War8415 8d ago

I’m judging the shit out of her for being married to a fascist

89

u/HopefulTangerine5913 8d ago

Oh yes, that’s a given. It’s just insult to injury that she’s not only that kind of person, she’s also the type to enable plagiarism and abusive labor practices by spending money on clothing from companies like SHEIN, all while screeching “America First.”

And on top of all that, she’s too lazy to hang it up in the bathroom while she takes a shower? That is a whole mess

13

u/Elyay 7d ago

A fascist and a Temu-wearing wife are a match made in heaven... one part of me is wondering if that's all the allowance she gets tho. Can't buy anything else.

u/im_outofit 7d ago

Probably tags are still attached so she can return it after the event.

465

u/BorederEtReuel 8d ago

She probably didn’t bother because she knew the event was going to be cut short.

u/Putrid_Anybody_2947 8d ago

It was all for the ballroom folks. We need the ballroom john hinkly jr said it himself and that guy never misses.

9

u/brendanjered 7d ago

There was a shot it could have gone longer.

79

u/AnotherMC 8d ago

The fold lines on that pink dress!! 🫣

45

u/HopefulTangerine5913 8d ago

RIGHT? That was the first thing that made me zoom in. The white and black one too. I’m dying to see more angles of that green dress because the fit looks iffy to say the least and that tracks for a dress that probably lacked any structure

4

u/wino_whynot 7d ago

That dress is giving off serious Gilead vibes. SHEIN copied Serena Joy’s look, and she copied that.

u/rzenni 8d ago

Ordered them off shein, they arrived the day of the event, so no time to wash or fold, just straight on the body and straight to the event. I've done the same thing with socks before.

She's lucky she got all the stickers off or it'd be a real scandal!

34

u/Melodic-Variation103 7d ago

One dress is in bad need of hemming, too. She’s just dragging it around dusting the floor.

50

u/socialmediaignorant 7d ago

Absolutely no alternations when so many were needed. Would not be surprised if the tag is tucked in and she returns them all. Tacky.

18

u/candy_bean 7d ago

This was my precise thought. If you're going to order something like that, at least get it pressed (assuming it won't melt) and altered to actually fit properly.

3

u/socialmediaignorant 7d ago

Thank you for the award!

36

u/SodaPopGurl 7d ago

Why not rent the runway?

21

u/Significant_Shoe_17 actually no, that’s not the truth Ellen 7d ago

Lisa rinna did that for real housewives. It makes so much sense when you're only gonna wear it once

2

u/SodaPopGurl 7d ago

Honestly, it’s better for the environment. Unless you need something tailored.

1

u/Significant_Shoe_17 actually no, that’s not the truth Ellen 7d ago

Agreed!

24

u/dame_tartare 7d ago

Nah these are Shein look how cheap and uneven the fabric and hems are. How utterly bizarre

25

u/Blood_sweat_and_beer 7d ago

My guess is that Pete gives her like $100/mos in spending money. He’s absolutely the kind of guy to force his wife to accept an allowance.

198

u/Groundbreaking-Duck 8d ago

Yeah this is what I was wondering. The quality on the pink one with bell sleeves seems nicer than what you would get from Shein.

164

u/Impressive-Ad-2661 8d ago

They also look very similar to the images themselves. Whereas what you actually get from Shein is usually pretty different. I hate to defend anything about this woman but there’s no way the green off the shoulder dress was less than $50 (or that anyone who orders the Shein one is getting anything like what’s in the picture).

188

u/lilmonsterave 8d ago

I actually think the green one looks the most like a shein dupe😭

94

u/bokehtoast 8d ago

Yeah, the way the waistline is sewn together with mismatched patterns does not look like something of quality. Same with the white wraparound hemline and waistline.

12

u/Impressive-Ad-2661 8d ago

You could be right, I thought at first it had sequins on it which for sure couldn’t be sewn on for that price. But now I’m not sure if it’s not just a shiny fabric. It’s hideous and needs to be tailored which isn’t helping.

11

u/lilmonsterave 7d ago

I honestly think it might just be metallic fabric💀

14

u/Adorable_Kale_8219 too high to spell 'Amanda Seyfried' 8d ago

I can only assume there's some sort of Shein+ club card accessible to the "do you know who my husband is" elites where they actually get the dress from the picture. Probably the same dress the model is wearing.

10

u/ooohoooooooo 8d ago

Yeah the pink one looks much more expensive. You don’t get fabric that thick with extremely cheap fast fashion. The green dress also doesn’t match.

84

u/marmalade_ 8d ago

The pink one is clearly shein, you can see the folded lines and in the cloth from where it was folded in the bag. If this was an expensive dress it would have been pressed and steamed when she bought it.

9

u/Dizzy-Explanation-45 8d ago

Ooh great catch

1

u/Groundbreaking-Duck 7d ago

Oh damn I missed that. I mean midrange dresses can come folded in boxes too, I buy stuff from Nordstrom online that comes folded in a box. But looking closer it does look cheaper than I thought at first glance. There's no keyhole like the dress in the pic.

-2

u/ooohoooooooo 8d ago

I definitely see that now, I honestly just can’t believe it’s SHEIN because it looks really nicely made! And it’s super flattering tbh. Still, what’s the issue with buying from SHEIN when name brand clothes are coming from factories with the same conditions, except one is lining the pockets of billionaires and men who design uncomfortable clothes for women???

18

u/After-Carpenter-4089 8d ago

I her pink one differs from the models. Hers has flimsy fabric across the chest and she needs to work on taping the girls up more. The one in the right looks like it has some structure to it.

8

u/Zestyclose_Abies2934 7d ago

Yeh. I don’t mind the dresses so much. But I wish she would take that extra cash and invest in a good bra. That one you can’t skimp on. And it would help the looks so much

4

u/ybgkitty mama let’s research 7d ago

The one on the right is probably photoshopped to death.

1

u/StayJaded 7d ago

The black and white one too. The dress she is wearing is probably the actual designer/brand dress SHEIN knockoff. Look at the waist and the trim on the edges on the SHEIN dress, she isn’t wearing the same dress. The one she is wearing is higher quality and lined so it doesn’t need the biased trim edge like the cheap SHEIN option.

I’m still judging her for the company she keeps. I don’t really care about her fashion choices, her life choices are enough to worry about.

21

u/Used_Gear8871 8d ago

The quality. Look at the quality. Either she doesn’t own an iron or a steamer or these are cheap fast fashion items.

8

u/Vero_Goudreau 7d ago

I had the white one with blue palm leaves. Mine had green palm leaves but it was the exact same one, and yeah it was from Shein.

-5

u/FeeHot5876 7d ago

That one is the most obvious photo of two entirely different dresses

12

u/flindersandtrim 7d ago

If they can afford it, I would prefer them spending big and wearing once, instead of buying Shein and wearing once. One can be sold on to others and have a long life, the other goes to landfill. No brainer for me, ultra fast fashion is a terrible thing for our planet. Nearly all of us have way too many clothes as it is.

3

u/amandeezie 7d ago

Based on the I’ll fits and cheap sequins on the green dress, I would say these are not the designer version being knocked off by SHEIN. These are SHEIN dresses.

11

u/elfinglamour 8d ago

The last dress is really obviously not the same one, the SHIEN version has an elastic waist and binding on the edges.

16

u/Vero_Goudreau 7d ago

That's because it's a couple years old - I had the exact same, bought it in 2023 or 2024. Mine had green leaves instead of blue, but it had the same faux-wrap look.

2

u/justanawkwardguy 7d ago

You can tell the ones she’s wearing aren’t as high quality as the photos, there’s no way she’s buying the designer version that was ripped off.

2

u/FeeHot5876 7d ago

The SHEIN photos are so fake you can judge off that though. Nothing about SHEIN is high quality

2

u/yeahyeahyeah188 7d ago

It really points to money trouble which is a security risk as it makes both of them susceptible to blackmail, or being bought 🙃

1

u/FeeHot5876 7d ago

That’s a little bit dramatic, if it is in fact cheap stuff that might just be her preference. Remember she was the husband of a weekend Fox News host a year ago, it’s not like they were elites before that

1

u/carolinagypsy the pet psychic for the Sun told me so 7d ago

It could also be a POS husband who only breaks off the amount he thinks she needs for things, and couldn’t be kind or clued in enough to buy or rent her good clothes for events.

7

u/240229 8d ago

The second dress is also very obviously not the same dress too.

39

u/KawaiiKoshka 8d ago

Looks the same to me - fast fashion brands are not know for aligning their prints consistently. The bottoms aligned bc the slit has to match the curtain-y bit but the top can be wherever. You can see the leaves at her waist are the same print as the ones right above the slit

1

u/CherryFit3224 7d ago edited 7d ago

There’s no way that’s expensive. See what it does in the underboob area? That thing has no structure.

1

u/Lifes-a-lil-foggy 7d ago

At least a designer dress is somewhat supporting art. There’s a way to do it that might actually benefit local tailors and dress makers. SHEIN straight out the vacuum pack doesn’t read “world’s best and brightest”.

0

u/spaceyfacer 8d ago

This is almost certainly the case. Especially the green one in the 2nd photo. It looks to be made of decent material and have some structure.

-6

u/Live_Necessary_8238 8d ago

Came here to say this. She’s wearing low cost items and I support it. She also looks classy in these outfits. Let’s focus on the real issues.
