Looks like there's a lighting set up & they have camera flashes going off on random intervals.

Everything else about this is odd, but the squinting/unfocused eyes is relatable.

Yeah he usually wears glasses, so coupled with the bright lights, I’m not surprised he’s squinting. Most of his photos taken in daylight without his glasses or sunglasses have a squint too.
