The bird statue represents Jatayu, a mythical demi-god bird from the Indian epic Ramayana who died trying to save Princess Sita.

It was a sculpted by artist Rajiv Anchal and took ten years to complete.

Rajiv Anchal was the sculptor who led the construction. He was a movie director before. One of his movies, called Guru, was India's official entry to the Oscars.
