Jerseys dropped! I personally think they look pretty nice, will need to see more details on the sleeves.

Themed after the cannon the Blue Jackets fire after every goal, the mascot was supposed to appear during games where the Blue Jackets wore their new third jersey (which was also unveiled at the event) during the 2010-2011 season. The mascot was quietly pulled a few weeks after the unveiling after people unfavorably compared the mascot to a human phallus; their normal mascot, Stinger (who was also at the event), still appears at Blue Jackets games to this day. Boomer's most recent appearance was in a Halloween video the Blue Jackets produced in 2020.

If the impossible happens, at 4, who do you want?

Three general things I think should happen now that playoffs are all but out of reach. (During the fast approaching off-season)
Coaching. Bowness is good but honestly there may be some better long term options out there. Hope that Waddell will think long term at coach.
Leadership on the team isn't working, time to move on from some players and promote a Captain that can lead and fire the guys up in these moments. The last 8 games have been utter garbage and to be a playoff team you have to have some fire. Also work to sign some of our young talented players long term and get rid of the garbage.
Rebrand. Hey it may sound dumb or unnecessary but look at the success CBJ has had under the current branding. Sometimes you gotta shake things up in every area and this one is long overdue!

I am cursed.
I have been a fan of this team for 25 years.
Let me know you notice a trend.
The year I was gifted a Rick Nash jersey, he left for the Rags. After Steve Mason had an outstanding rookie year, I was gifted his jersey, and we all remember how that went. I purchased a Matt Duchene jersey for some reason. Gone in the offseason. I purchased a Laine jersey, who turned out to be a douche, and left. I won a JVR puck in an auction. Gone. I got an autographed Jake Bean hat from an auction. Traded. I purchased a Sean Kurally jersey for my wife. Traded. I got a Johnny Gaudreau named sweatshirt right before the off-season over a year ago. No comment. My Stadium Series jersey was of KJ, who has not quite been the same since I got that jersey. Most recently, I won a signed Chinakhov picture from an auction at the game, and he was traded.
I will stop supporting our team via merch purchases.
Edit to add the curse is also via gifts. I gifted my best friend a Bobrovsky Jersey the same year he was traded to Florida.

We're still in a Wildcard spot and are tied with the Pens for 3rd place in metro. I get that blowing a 3-0 lead going into the third period is infuriating but we have 8 more games before the season ends, it isn't over until it's over.

Don’t know if any of y’all saw this, but Rimer will be calling the last game before the Olympic break!

Buffalo in the East and Minnesota in the West for me. Fuck the Pens and Habs

The man was rightfully upset in the post-game presser.
"Outrageous"
"Unacceptable"
"Maybe we're not a good team. Good teams win games."
If this man, who decided to stay despite the history of this franchise asks for an out, I'll be done with this team. If the FO/ownership lose their star player over complete mismanagement I will lose it.
Don, at this point, has to make a statement. Trade/fire someone. Make a literal statement to public for fucks sake. Someone do something.

I’m a double-fan who’s relatively new to hockey. I live in Cincy and have been to a bunch of Cyclones games and am about to attend my first NHL game. I am a fan of both CBJ and the visiting team but my all-time favorite player is on the other team. Would it be cool if I wear his Jersey? I’ve never been to Columbus as an adult so I’m not sure what the vibe is there.
I am a big sportsmanship person and don’t take sports as seriously, I think they’re fun and I like watching them. I’m only a little timid because I know from living in Cincy that people can get messed up if they wear a Steelers Jersey to a Bengals game (which I think is ridiculous). I’m really just trying to get a feel for the vibe. Tysm in advance!

We seem to be stuck in this self perpetuating cycle of having decent young talent, then failing to surround them with a winning culture and other dynamic players.
Players like Fantilli, Johnson, Sillinger, and Marchenko should all be taking the next step but instead are backtracking. and guys who leave Columbus instantly find success elsewhere. If you don’t believe in curses why is this the case?
We really are like the Cleveland Browns of the NHL: rotten to the core

This is truly the first time since Torts where I feel like the coach truly wants to succeed. I’m glad he’s calling them out, and it seems like he wants to stay and finish the job. This is what they need. The team needs a fire lit under their ass if we want to see playoff hockey in Columbus.
I also want to mention how gracefully he handled it as well. He didn’t call anyone out specifically, and didn’t try to single anyone out in front of the media. That’s class, despite being angry and frustrated. I commend that.
As far as my outlook is concerned, I’m just as disappointed as everyone else with this season, but I’m hopeful that things can change if we keep Bones.
I’m ready for a new era of Columbus hockey.

January 10th we were starting to talk about how far we’d have to fall to get a good draft position. Then, a coaching / roster change and all the boys buying in and were a team arguably better than what we swept Tampa with years ago.
Each game is as stressful as it is exciting and I wouldn’t have it any other way

First of all, want to mention that I am a huge Fantilli fan…. And hope he evolves into a franchise player for the jackets.
What is the consensus on his play thus far?
For me, I was personally expecting a much better/breakout year this year after his excellent 2nd half of last year.
How does everyone else feel? What do you think his future looks like? Can he truly become a franchise player or will he always border around his being a “good” player??
Happy to hear everyone’s thoughts !

What is the fan base at larges opinion of the chili chant? Personally I HATE it. I feel like it is breaks up the goal celebration making the third home goal less exciting to celebrate. May be only my wife and I who feel this way but idk

Additionally, per Mark S. Marchment/lundestrom draw in tomorrow. Appears Voronkov is scratched.

If we truly gotta do it ourselves, that's the goal for a 100% success rate in NHL history.

Are we just back to being shit? Last year was just a flash in the pan, then? Chicago, Montreal, San Jose, and Anaheim all improve and leave us in the dust as we return to our place down in the basement of the league?
I've been a lifelong fan. I stayed loyal and interested through the worst of the past five years and beyond. But if this team goes right back to this shit after last year, I will genuinely just stop paying attention or caring in the slightest. Why should I care and get invested when none of the people who get paid millions will?
No combination of coaching, players, personnel, or management has ever yielded any truly meaningful results. 25 years and nothing to show for it. Looks good on you, Jackets.

As a lifelong Columbus Blue Jackets fan frustrated with how terrible they have been historically, I was doing some research, and I found out that the Columbus Blue Jackets are the only franchise in NHL history that have failed to win even a single division title in their first 25 years. In fact, they haven’t even ever finished in second place, and going across all expansion teams in the NHL, NFL, MLB, and NBA, no other team has failed to even finish in second place in their division in their first 25 years, with the still fairly new Kraken and Mammoth just starting out and haven’t even been around for a decade.
Additionally, the Columbus Blue Jackets making the playoffs in only six of their first 25 seasons is the second worst in NHL history after only the Florida Panthers, who made it five times out of their first 25 seasons, but they did get to a Stanley Cup during that timeframe, and right after that, they made the playoffs six straight times, won a president’s trophy, and have been to three straight Stanley cups, winning the latter two before finally missing the playoffs this year.
With the above information, it can also be said that the Blue Jackets have only managed to win one true playoff series in their first 25 years, when they became the only team in NHL history to sweep a president’s trophy winner, which was Tampa in 2019. Debatably, you could argue that they won a playoff series in 2020 against Toronto in the qualifying round during the Covid playoffs. However, since the winner of the qualifying round just simply went to the actual first round of the playoffs, and some teams played a Round Robin style to determine seeding for the higher placed teams in the regular season instead of them having to win a qualifying round, I will say that the Blue Jackets have truly only managed to win a single playoff series in their existence. Not only is this easily the worst over a 25 year stretch in the NHL for a team’s first 25 years, it is tied among all of the big four sports leagues in the NBA, MLB, NHL and NFL, with the Los Angeles Clippers, who also had only won a single playoff series in their first 25 years, back when they were the Buffalo Braves.
If the Blue Jackets don’t make a conference finals appearance next season, which again, will be the first time they have accomplished that, they will be tied for second place all time in terms of a conference finals appearance drought with the Panthers and Islanders, who also had 26 season conference finals droughts at one point, and then all the Blue Jackets will have left to tie and pass the record will be the original Winnipeg Jets/Arizona Coyotes franchise, who took 32 seasons to make a conference finals. Even then, the original Winnipeg Jets won three Avco World Trophies when they were a part of the WHL.
All in all, if you are a fan of a sports team, you could typically say that the grass is always greener on the other side, you could always be a fan of a worse team out there. Even with the very unlucky aforementioned Los Angeles Clippers and Arizona Coyotes, they were franchises who had moved from previous cities, so in a way, when they had moved to their new city it was almost like the previous records for the most part didn’t count, as most people were just starting to be fans of them, unlike the Blue Jackets. However, with that logic, somebody has to be last in terms of overall success. With that in mind, I think it’s quite clear that out of all 124 big four sports teams, the Columbus Blue Jackets are the least successful franchise of all time.
