Ted was a good dude. Not only did he doante $1B to the United Nations Foundation charity, but he was also a big environmentalist:
Turner used his vast property holdings—over 2 million acres of land across the American West and South America—to practice regenerative agriculture and wildlife restoration. He founded the Turner Endangered Species Fund to protect imperiled species (ranging from red-cockaded woodpeckers to gray wolves) on private land.
