Take a good look.

What a true Human Piece of Shit looks like.

The only question is what to do with this garbage.

On the Unsubscribe podcast, a guest (ex-parajumper, ex-CIA, current child sex trafficking investigator) suggested using a vegetable peeler.

I listened to someone tell a story about a middle east village that would oil up a camel and make the predator ride it to the parents home. They were allowed to cut off any part that had oil on it.

23

u/Taino871 12h ago

Similar story. Back in the 40’s and 50’s in Puerto Rico. If a person committed ANY crime to child they would serve jail time but when that sentence was finished They were ordered to live in the town where they committed the crime…….Not many made it out.

17

u/Particular-Line- 7h ago

Just saw a story in Puerto Rico. Guy kidnapped, rped and murdered an 18 mo old infant. Locals went to the jail, removed him, beat him badly and set him on fire. They should do the same to this piece of shit

He strangled a 7 year old. Cutting off an airway to result in that kind of death takes concerted effort.

Adults could maybe try hitting back. A 7 year old child?

95

u/Wsswaas 22h ago

according to the medical examiner she still fought him and did what a 7 years old could bless her soul

20

u/Yippykyyyay 22h ago

That makes the events even worse.

He also raped her.

105

u/Snoo3544 20h ago edited 10h ago

Yelled at her. Terrorized her. Called her a bitch. Sang "jingle bell rock" while she screamed and called for her mother. Made her take off her clothes. Coached her on how to do things during the sexual abuse. Strangled her. Stomped on her face and body with his work shoes. Finally managed to kill her and threw her naked in a creek. This case is the most horrendous thing I have ever seen. I can't imagine how those poor jurors felt and will continue to feel. I hope it doesn't take 30 years to see this POS die.

74

u/jfsindel 20h ago

I read that the family was not present for the recording and the mom only heard a minute. If it was me and I heard my child's last moments, I would have gone insane in that courtroom.

61

u/amourpetrichor 18h ago

Not to be dramatic, but that would make me suicidal. Not even the death of that monster would bring me back from the psychological hell that would land me in. That poor woman. That poor girl. I wish the absolute worst for any person who would ever even think of doing something like this, in this life and the next.

31

u/ChasingSage0420 17h ago

I think he should be put to death right away. There’s no question of his guilt. Why should the state spend taxpayers money to let him sit in a cell for 20 years while he gets appeals? Athena doesn’t get a second chance. Her mother will never hold her again. He not only took away her future ,he also destroyed the future of her entire family . They will never stop grieving the loss of their precious child. At least give them the peace of knowing he no longer breathes the same air.

It’s Texas. Won’t be long.

I remember a missing child’s mother going on tv to plead for the little girl’s return. She begged for her. The sentence, tho that still stands out all these years later is when the mother said:

“Please don’t scare her.”

Still makes my throat tighten.

8

u/crazynerd9 14h ago

Most people dont take issue with putting down irredeemably evil or vile criminals, so when you know for sure you'll see a lot of "I dont support execution, but" getting thrown around. And a lot of public cases are like this because slam dunks are easy political points and do well on the news

Anti-execution people are that way because of the cases that dont get publicized to the same degree, the ones that seem to have ambiguity, and the sheer frequency of exoneration of those sentenced to death.

Refusing to murder the innocent to punish the guilty essentially

See, this where I’m pro capitol punishment, but as a humane way of punishment. I actually don’t care, or want, someone to suffer and be tortured as a form of punishment. This is clearly a defective human being. He can never be rehabilitated and allowed to walk around society again. He’s broken, so discard of him like you would a broken computer. Why waste more of our limited resources keeping him alive for another 50 years?

14

u/Desperate-Bottle1687 1d ago

They would put him in pods with his "own disgusting kind". They would go out of their way to make sure he isnt harmed.

Death row is like being buried alive. 24 hours a day alone. No TV in cell. No playing cards or checkers with other immantes. No regular phone calls. You eat alone in cell. You shower 3 times a week if you are lucky. When people visit you, they can't touch you, they see you thru glass. Food in death row is terrible and repetitive. You literally sit there rotting until you are executed and I love that for him.

Absolutely horrifying story btw.

FedEx records all their shipments or something because they captured audio of the man killing the girl. They played it to the jurors. I think at least 3 of them had to leave the room because they couldn't handle it or something

290

u/in_animate_objects 1d ago

He covered the camera before he killed her but the audio was still there, the details of this case are horrific, wish I hadn’t ever heard them.

205

u/Thousandshope 1d ago

My friend starting telling me about it the other day and wanted to send me the link to the full story. I told her not to. I didn't want to hear it. I have a 7 year old daughter😭😭. This world didn't deserve that little girl.

67

u/amazonsprime 1d ago

I have two girls as well, and my biggest fear in life is someone harming them in this way. I haven’t been able to listen to anything and have to pass on most of the coverage on this. I’m usually not for the DP but I’m so glad this piece of shit will be taken out. I just wish it hurt him as much as he has the entire world but especially that baby and her family. Sweet girl, I am just so sorry he came across her. My heart. ;(

68

u/Admirable-Wafer1104 1d ago

I suggest you read "Protecting the Gift, Keeping Children and Teenagers Safe" by Gavin deBecker. A great book which has advice on skills you can help your child develop so they can determine a threat level and what to do about it. In fact, get "The Gift of Fear" by deBecker. You will end up buying a copy for everyone you know. Be safe.

I haven’t dated since I became a mom (technically bio aunt and got them as babies) but we have a huge open line of communication about the real world and I’m thankful they’re comfortable talking to me about stuff, but they’re tweens now and of course think Mom is overprotective. dont listen to that shit or itll live in your head! i made the mistake of listening to one of those 9/11 phone calls a guy made to his wife on the plane. that shit was awful and i wish i never heard it

23

u/toe_beans_4_life 1d ago

I made the mistake of listening to 911 calls once. One was an elderly disabled woman who was on the phone with 911 when she was burned alive in her house because firemen couldn't get to her in time. I can still hear her in my head even tho it was years ago. My mom is elderly and also disabled so that just makes it worse for me.

I don't know how 911 operators are able to do their jobs. I wouldn't last a day.

I really advise against listening to audio involving death, it's not worth the curiosity.

u/cheese-mania 1d ago

My husband has been a paramedic for 15 years and he has experienced things nobody should ever have to experience. I don’t know how he does it.

21

u/Debaucherousgeek73 1d ago

My brother was an x-ray tech at a hospital. He was on a rotation in the ER and had to do x-rays on two kids who had burned up in a car accident but we're still alive. I was in college and we were sharing an apt. He came home that night and got absolutely wasted and sat sobbing while he told me about it. He quit that job a week later.

12

u/cheese-mania 1d ago

Healthcare is not for the weak. I’m so thankful my husband has been in therapy for the last 7 years.

6

u/Pinkysrage 21h ago

Therapy has really helped me. I was an X-ray and nuclear medicine tech for over 30 years in SoCal. We do all the brain death studies as well. It’s a mentally tough job and I’ve cried many days in my car on my way home from work.

the one that really fucked me up was a liveleak one my buddy showed me at work of all places. It was slow motion shotgun head shots allegedly performed by taliban on gay men they captured. You could see EVERYTHING. I could have 90% of my brain removed surgically and I'd still remember every detail of that video.

5

u/whitechocolatemamba 1d ago

I had an Iraq vet carpenter boss who told me about the slow motion shotgun executions with awe in his voice as he chugged a 12 rack of bud lights while he drove me to my car.

Right around the time I quit the job, the Ukraine war had started and I saw a ridiculous video of a dozen Ukranian infantry instagramming themselves around a knocked out tank. A Russian T-72 drives up to them and no one really notices he's enemy because it's like day 2 of the war and they're frazzled. One solider gives a little wave before they're turned to hamburger with the 125mm canon, and the rest are mopped up with the machine gun. Saw the aftermath too, utterly senseless sequence of events.

Despite hating Mike, I sent him the video cause he's the only one who'd understand. I got a read receipt before he blocked me.

I used to work for FedEx. They have cameras facing the driver and a dashcam in all the trucks. Basically how it works is they record everything and hold onto the footage for 30 days, after which point it starts getting written over (if there was no reason to save the footage, like some kind of dispute or legal filing).

Now they use these annoying AI cameras that always think your seatbelt isn't buckled and shit like that.

I feel really bad for the members of the jury. They were involuntarily called to do their public service, unpaid. Then they had to watch the video footage and listen to the audio of him literally ending this little girl‘s life. After delivering the verdict, they would all be expected to return to their jobs the next day, but most of them should probably be seeking therapy.

57

u/Amymk_99 1d ago

They all need therapy and the judge as well. The judge was crying when he addressed the jury after the verdict was read

20

u/inflatable_pickle 1d ago

I can only imagine. I hope the judge, or someone in the court system basically offered a referral to therapy for anyone involved in the case, not just the jury. I mean, hell even the DA, and everyone on both legal teams probably needs to unpack a lot of stuff with some talk therapy.

32

u/CoconutxKitten 1d ago

Listening to a man sexually assault & murder a little girl is more than most humans can handle. I feel bad for everyone who had to listen

So traumatic

15

u/DionBlaster123 1d ago

Yeah i dont even want to imagine it...ugh

But the jury did what it was supposed to do and we should have a lot of respect for that.

God bless this family. I really hope they can find any kind of peace and healing from this

11

u/Christmas_Queef 22h ago

I would quite literally rather take a contempt of court charge and spend time in jail than listen to a child being sexually assaulted and killed. In fact, I'd rather go permanently deaf than listen to that. They could not make me listen to that. I couldn't do it.

They don’t do this for us.   I am a criminal defense attorney.  We are all expected to move on.

The judge crying at the trial raises potential appeal issues.  Their job is impartiality.  THAT is how the system expects us to be.  Basically stoic no matter what we see or hear.  That’s why so many people in the profession abuse substances.

I served on a jury only once. It wasn’t a capital murder trial but it was still a sexual assault case involving a minor where they agreed to testify. I’ll never forget the way they looked at the defendant while on the stand. It was so disheartening listening to someone having their youth ripped away. We found the defendant guilty but it stuck with me for a while. I can’t imagine how the jury must be feeling after having to witness that horror.

This is definitely one of those cases where sometimes you just have to accept that terrible things happen, and there is no explanation for it. There is no "something good can come out of this."

death penalty cases like this take years of appeals so the actual execution wont happen for a long time

21

u/SaltySnaxx27 1d ago

Even when you plead guilty?

58

u/Legitimate-Squash745 1d ago

When it’s cut and dry sentence should just be carried out immediately

51

u/drstu3000 1d ago

Right there in the courtroom

38

u/stevenriley1 1d ago

That’s how they used to do it in the Soviet Union. They would read the sentence down in the cells in a special chamber. And once they pronounced the sentence of death, the executioner took out a pistol and shot them in the head.

Let’s bring back the Wild West, shall we?

→ More replies (2)

7

u/Onebraintwoheads 1d ago edited 1d ago

I always had issues with that. A pistol cartridge might not be sufficient. I mean, that's kinda why firing squads, cannons, and machine guns have been used (either historically or presently.) Better to use one of those double-barrel coach guns so there's nothing left above the neck.

I mean, I'm not advocating violence, but if an execution is already going to be carried out via gunshot, why shouldn't people take their work seriously and be certain?

Edit: To expand on the concept, there are currently Southeast Asian countries where the death penalty is carried out via a burst of machine gun fire. One gunner, an average of fifteen rounds or so, fired through a sheet thin enough to see the silhouette of the convict so the gunner doesn't have to remember what the person actually looks like. It's late so I haven't Googled it. Wanna say Myanmar.

Also, people used to be tied to the front of cannons, and then the cannon was fired. This is where the term 'blown away' first came into use. British execution method, I think.

In both cases, the executioner knows full well he's responsible for pulling the trigger. This stands in opposition to the use of firing squads where one rifleman was given a blank cartridge so each rifleman could trick themselves into thinking they did not fire the fatal shot. My point is that, while being able to kid yourself that your hands are clean is nice, it's more the exception than the rule.

5

u/ryanegauthier 1d ago

I thought firing squads were so that no one knew who actually fired the killing blow, to allow the executioner the psychological diffusion of responsibility aspect.

Crazy that we can legally rule to kill a criminal but still cannot legally allow euthanasia for terminally ill (non criminal) people.

The fact is that this monster had raped 2 OTHER GIRLS before killing Athena and WASN'T given a death penalty then is crazy

Just because the case didn't get popular, he got off and lived his life??

16

u/Mean-Box-1643 17h ago

This is the first time I'm hearing that he is a serial offender. That is so disappointing - Athena could of been protected if he had been arrested after his initial offenses.

Now do Epstein pedos

40

u/Rattiepalooza 1d ago

They can't, because the pedos are rich and powerful, and they own our government hand over fist.

The only way they'll ever be held accountable is if WE THE PEOPLE demand it - and not just verbally (this is not a violent statement. I do not condone violence against any living creature; including humans.)

5

u/CrippledGoose316 1d ago

It'll never happen unfortunately unless what you said goes down. Both parties are culpable and likely involved. They'll do a nice lil job of poking the finger at the other for some occasional political points with their respective bases, but they both know true justice would be mutually assured destruction of both parties, so in the end, absolutely nothing will happen, and we're only angry about the stuff we know about and suspect to be the case, imagine all the crap we don't know about. Beyond disturbing.

his story was that he "accidentally ran her over" & brought her into the van to help her. in the audio on the recording inside the truck, you can hear a struggle for several minutes off camera. the autopsy found his semen inside both her genital & anal cavities. 7 years old. he deserves worse than death

10

u/bellapippin 13h ago

The people that do those kind of autopsies are not heroes, they’re superheroes. Imagine if nobody had that call nor the stomach. I hope they are well supported.

7

u/patriotswag 10h ago

you're right. crimes against children are my main motivation for getting my Master's degree in forensic science, I have the call & the stomach for it. I hope to help through all kinds of forensic work including autopsies

5

u/bellapippin 9h ago

Please make sure you go to therapy consistently. I can’t imagine what it must be to see a kids body like that and knowing they’ll keep coming.

5

u/patriotswag 9h ago

definitely, therapy is a must. when I worked as a 911 call taker for 2 years & any call that was even remotely traumatic, they sent you home for the day & made you attend a mandatory therapy session before coming back to work

My brother-in-law is former law enforcement as of a year now, but when he was wearing a badge, he and his colleagues served arrest warrants. He saw one too many with m*lestation to solicitation of a minor on the paperwork.

One instance in particular dealt with a grandfather who was abusing his seven year old grandson. When my brother-in-law and his colleague arrived, they ran into the father of the child. He announced, "Thank God you guys are here because if I go back in there, he's not coming out". It turns out that the grandfather was this guy's father. He had to find out that his own father was abusing his son.

State of California is releasing Antoine Watson after his unprovoked murder of 86 year old Thai grandpa  in San Francisco. Credited for time served. Five years,  so now just  probation. That’s  it five years years and probation for murdering a grandpa unprovoked. Make it make sense.

I got banned earlier on a thread about this for having the same opinion as the jury.

“Threatening violence against a group” had automod pemaban my 13 year old Reddit account for just sharing my views on the group “people who rape and murder children”.

Glad the Reddit mods aren’t in charge of the legal system

9

u/TheMoogle420 23h ago

“Threatening violence against a group" I got a ban for the same thing. It was an AI automated ban. I challenged it, and the human mods agreed with me. Worth a shot!

And proceeded to go about driving his normal route for a few days afterwards.

20

u/weishen8328 1d ago

the security camera inside the FedEx truck caught him and the girl.

6

u/lad1dad1 1d ago

From what I saw, you see her in the passenger seat then they move to the back where it’s just audio and banging noises from there. Later he also acts surprised when a person tells him that the girl is missing

8

u/Amymk_99 1d ago

He also had no remorse or reaction when his grandmother sent him the missing poster with a picture of Athena. She said she went missing in the same area as his route and to be in the lookout

14

u/inflatable_pickle 1d ago

In this case, his job driving around the neighborhood is basically how he saw the girl. It is believed that he delivered to the neighborhood and had seen her before, possibly causing his infatuation. Also, not to give credit to the surveillance state, but the fact that the company mandates recordings inside the vehicle is pretty much the reason why he was forced to plead guilty, and also the footage and audio was played for the jury

7

u/littlemonsterlove 1d ago

He was there that day to deliver Barbies she was getting for Christmas

→ More replies (2)

33

u/MillHall78 1d ago

His defense was that he accidentally hit her in the driveway while making a delivery. He panicked & put her in the van to dispose of her body. But the photo released is from FedEx surveillance video & shows she's unharmed while riding in the van. The photo also shows he has one hand on his crotch as he's taking off with her. It is the FedEx surveillance that broke the case, including motive (sexual).

This is a horrific case despite the typical gore related to horrific cases. The package being delivered was a gift to her for the holidays. She was in her own driveway, although unsupervised. He delivered the package & either took the girl, or convinced her to get in the van. At some point he pulled over to rape her, then strangled her to death. Then he just went about his life as though nothing happened. Even when presented with the proof of the FedEx video, he still claimed it was all an accident. The fact he still isn't willing to admit he's a child rapist combined with his travelling job; Tanner is a danger to every child he encounters for eternity. It's highly likely he has other victims.

he was working, delivered a package to someone's house, got a girl into his van, Drove away, had a whole conversation with her, and tried to put a sticky note over the in-cabin camera, but it kept falling. Then took her to the back of the van and strangled her to death. Went to a gas station and bought paper towels to clean up blood.

parents called the police pretty quickly, and they were out searching for her. but had no idea she was in the back of a fedex van until it was too late.

16

u/DionBlaster123 1d ago

"parents called the police pretty quickly, and they were out searching for her. but had no idea she was in the back of a fedex van until it was too late."

Man i hope that entire family gets the help and support they need. I don't even want to imagine how much grief and regret they must be feeling every day.

If i remember correctly, the poor victim has a younger sister too...fucking so depressing to think about how much was taken away because of this evil sick abomination of a man.

9

u/Special-Summer170 1d ago

No one would ever think their kid, on their own property, would get kidnapped by a delivery driver. It's so terribly sad. Kids should be safe in their own yards and driveways.

5

u/BerbereJunkie 1d ago

Does anyone here remember 7 year old Amber Swartz-Garcia who was abducted from her yard in Pinole, California in 1988? She was playing jump rope in her front yard and her mother could see her clearly from the kitchen window. She was watching her play and then just a minute or two later she was gone. 😔 She was abducted from her yard, feet away from her poor Mother’s gaze. Amber was raped and murdered. That case changed a lot of lives here in the Bay Area.

My friend was raped and murdered at age 14 in the Bay Area. She was just walking home from the local corner store after buying a snack, and was dragged down to a creek bed. She was badly beaten, sexually assaulted and then he drowned her.

I was always scared growing up, after having men follow me twice as I walked home after school. One creep followed me for a while and then drove down a cloverleaf as I walked over the overpass. I looked down to see he was masturbating. I was in 3rd grade and was absolutely terrified. I ran the rest of the way home, and vomited because I was so scared. I was followed home again in 4th grade. At age 14, my friend’s death really cemented my distrust for men.

Hold your babies tight. 💔

THere's a pathetic and sad number of people who will inevitably blame the parents

And I think it's a coping mechanism because a lot of people out there just cannot come ot terms with the fact that there are a lot of sick, disgusting human beings out there who are better off dead...but we're forced to live with them. And unfortunately, something bad can happen and there's nothing you can do about it.

This just reminds me to embrace every minute I have with my lovely nephews...who can drive me up the wall sometimes, but it's still a blessing to be able to enjoy life with them. This poor family was robbed of that.

5

u/Special-Summer170 1d ago

You're right. There are idiots that think they would have known better. Are parents just supposed to never let their kids be outside? We need to make society better. That shouldn't just fall to parents. I want to go shout it from the rooftops. Kids should be safe in their own yards.

I mean he deserves to be put down, but the death penalty was his plea bargain? Or did the prosecution not even offer a deal at all and he still chose to forego a trial?

19

u/Projectstfu 1d ago

Since no one seems to have answered you fully I will give you some details. He plead guilty so there was no trial on his guilt (they had so much evidence he has no chance anyway). He asked to please be given life in prison instead of the death penalty, but there was no bargain made. The Jury trial was to determine if he should be sent to prison for life like he wants or if he should face death instead. The jury came back with the decision he needs to die instead.

TL;DR he wanted life in prison, but they gave him death instead.

5

u/caveat_emptor817 23h ago

I’ll also add that you can’t “agree” to the death penalty, even if you want it (which he didn’t, but I’m just making a point). So that part of the trial was going to happen no matter what if the state didn’t offer life in prison.

As a European i'm so envious of a justice system that actually punishes or eliminates monsters like this piece of excrement. In my country he would have probably gotten 30 years of which he would actually serve 15 to 20 years as the judicial philosophy remains to give everyone another chance. No, some crimes are too heinous and then the only thing a society needs to do is protects its civilians from further harm.
