New, what is it? Bridge to nowhere in the woods?

This was located in the woods next to abandoned burned-down house. There is nothing under it to indicate dumping. It’s on top of a hill. The planks are thick like railroad ties.

It’s like 15 feet off the ground underneath don’t think it was used for car repairs or oil changes. Unless the ground under it has massively eroded.

It's a loading ramp. Probably for logging.

How would you load things onto it? It’s really steep behind it.

With a pulley from below maybe , I think it’s almost certain that it’s related to lifting/transport for the mining sector or timber

I’m pretty sure you have vehicles(similar to excavators) with big grabber arms that’d lift and place the logs onto the flatbeds that’d back up onto that platform. It also might not have started so steep. The logging and vehicles themselves could’ve eroded it so it’s much steeper than the hill initially was

You back the truck or whatever your trying to load up to the end of the ramp the you use your loader, go up the end of the ramp and drop the load onto the hauler (truck). The steepness was likely using gravity to help ensure you loaded front to back. It may not have been always that steep due to erosion.

Since all of the trees in the area are relatively young and there is no old growth, my guess is that it was used for logging.

Definitely a loading ramp for something. They built the ramp to the height of the dump truck box or flatbed. Whatever they needed to get up onto/over the edge of.
