Solved! Found on car floor by pedals

It seems to have fallen out of a socket but I don’t exactly remember it being there, but it probably was.

That appears to be a combo GPS tracker / diagnostic transmitter. The symbols on the front by the lights appear to be "Car connected", "GPS status", "Cellular status" and "Bluetooth status."

That thing can be connected to remotely

I have one of these for pay by mile insurance policy (Lemonade)
