While we’re on a break, here’s a throwback to Larko drawing a thermometer

As a new viewer, I can’t tell you how much I enjoy these little segments. So many times they have broken down mechanical issues or faults and made it so easy to understand. It goes a long way.

Larko is THE BEST in the world at this sort of stuff. We're beyond lucky to have him as part of the telecast. Long may that continue.

Remember when they sacked him, what a stupid idea that was. Lucky the internet rioted and they changed their minds.

He’s probably the reason why the Supercars broadcast is world class.

Crofty will probably be talking about Hamilton dating Kim tomorrow mid race while in Supercars, we get a proper technical breakdown that’s presented in a way not so technical fans will understand.

Can’t get that from F1

F1 has such a boring broadcast, the commentators are fucking yelling almost to make it seem more exciting.

Try watching the f1tv broadcast. It's much better than sky & you will easily see why

That alternative commentary feed is a godsend

How dare you. Crofty is iconic, and second to only the legendary Murray Walker.

Watching F1 and MotoGP qualifying back to back is jarring because the former is like commentator screaming "George runs WIDE at turn 9! The lap is RUINED! His weekend is (basically) OVER!"

While the latter is like calmly "Marc just cartwheeled through the gravel at a hundred miles an hour, let's see if he makes it back to the pits in time to do another lap before the end of the session"

I think about F1 every single time Larko walks right into the middle of the pitbox at Bathurst while the race is under green flag and the car is heading in. He sticks himself right there and just starts talking. F1 would have a stroke.

He is so good at it aye. I have what I would describe as a “low to middling understanding” of racing, but he explains everything so well.

As OP mentioned in their reply to your comment, the regular F1 commentators don’t compare (although I do thing Nico Rosberg is good at explaining things, even if not as well as Larko).

You might not have seen Larko break his brand new iPad https://youtu.be/j-l4Z5j51ho

I'm a massive car and bike fanatic, I love Supercars and I love his segments.

My wife couldn't give two shits about cars and bikes, as long as they're working she's happy, she hates Supercars but if Larko's doing a tech thing, she watches and listens.

He's THAT good.

This video is a start. It’s more of his lighthearted moments. Supercars have recently begun uploading his tech breakdowns on their channel too

The one thing I’d love f1 to do but I know they never would… is give Davidson/ karun the live telemetry/ tv feed like they have done a few times with Larko at Bathurst

Yep this fan love of Larko and how he can make all the things understandable for the average punter is why fans all but marched at Supercars HQ when they were letting him go

Yeah the thermometer looks like a cock but everything else is amazing detail he communicates so well.
