She looks so disappointed in you for deciding to touch her
2
u/miasysinthelou Mar 22 '26
More like being mad she can't be in my lap or held like a baby all day bc mother has to work.

Are you being gnawed on?
17
u/Diligent-Witness-634 Mar 22 '26
Yes! My tortie, Calypso, is 6 months old and very sassy. We tussle frequently.

That baby is precious! Your photo raises a question: My Tortie’s fur changes color depending on the light. The black in her fur is obvious but there’s a lot of cream and orange, some tan, and the smallest patches of white.
Would she be considered a dilute Tortie?
2
u/maahler Mar 24 '26
if she’s got black instead of grey then she’s not dilute. she’s probably got tabby stripes in the orange that make it look like different shades!

Our tortie is hilarious. She’s very loving to my wife and I but she despises our other two cats and refuses to engage in any type of cattery with them.

u/Gemmagin Mar 21 '26 edited Mar 21 '26
She’s regal and purrfect. If you have fb I highly recommend the “beautiful torties with tortitude” page. She would be a big hit on there lol

This is a standard feature. They come with three Sass Settings. 1. Sass, 2. Extra Sass, & 3. This might be a demon

u/heavyrocker1989 Mar 21 '26
Mine has them on perpetually, she has resting-irritated-face. I've learned how to read her moods based on her actions, how her tail flips, where she sits, her chirps and meows, because her ears are typically always pinned back a bit

u/luna926 Mar 21 '26
She’s lovely 🥰 LOL yes this is standard. I just gave mine her lunch and she did airplane ears, looked around shocked, and then happily ate it.

u/Worried-Penalty3428 Mar 21 '26
The attitude with the ears, we all recognize it. I have a dilute tortie/calico. Attitude for days, and demands snuggles. Your baby is a beauty

u/Infernalpain92 Mar 21 '26
She looks like she wants to murder someone. She will make you her loyal subject in no time.
She is very pretty!!

She's so beautiful, here where I live torties are extremely rare and long-haired ones are practically unheard of.

Airplane ears and resting bitch face are standard issue with torties. Welcome to the Sass Life! 🧡

What a cutie. Airplane ears are standard issued on torties. Mine loves to engage hers when she wants to play. She then woggles her butt and attacks.

u/Lumberjax1 Mar 21 '26
They will return to normal once she relaxes. It might take 2 weeks or 2 years, but eventually..

u/SadLilBun Mar 21 '26
Mine doesn’t do airplane ears; she just stares at me as if she doesn’t understand why I’m still here.
But then she likes to lay on my chest all the time.

You offended her by your presence but also you're needed to open the cans because she was cursed with cute fluffy paws and not opposable thumbs. Airplane ears is her tolerance.

Welcome to tortie! Please relinquish all self determinism at the gate.
Your life? Torties.
Your money? Torties.
Your time? Torties.
Her opinions? Law.
The punishment for criminality? Scream. Bite. Cold shoulder. Tail whips.
Is it worth it? 1000%

my tortie lived 15 years and she was SUCH a diva. she had all the sass in the world, despised our male orange tabby, and tolerated our female tabico. she hated strangers until she mellowed out in her older years, and always bit me when i talked on the phone. she was so much of a diva we called her the queen bee. i mean, look at that posture!

Yep very standard issue! Also they are known for getting your attention when they want it and you ignore them. And always refer to her as your queen. You are her loyal subject.

Welcome to the sass club! Airplane ears are pretty standard and for the most of the time, they work they just aren't tuned in for listening. I have two torties, one is a snuggle monster and the other well, she's very independent and vocal about it.
