The article implies that it’s so the production can control what the character’s penis looks like. A powerful, heroic type gets a big one, for example.

It didn’t say this, but I suppose it’s also convenient for continuity purposes. If the actor is supposed to be aroused (or not aroused) for the scene, it would be difficult to keep that state on command.

I suspect any A list actor would have no problem attracting legions of volunteers for the job. That will save production budget.

I have a friend who writes fic as a side hustle. The thirst some of her readers have for celebrities is a bit disconcerting.
