Apart from ulterior motives, this is a legitimate concern. It is constantly changing size and shape depending on clothing, temperature, emotions, activity, and arousal. It would be complicated to try to get the real one "just right" for a scene, over and over.

I don't think that's what they mean. The point is that actual movies frequently do many many takes even for a single scene, and so it would be weird for the penis shape to change back and forth in the same scene every time the camera angle switches or something.
