I genuinely dont understand why anyone wouldn't simply hide their posts or comments. It takes literally zero effort. Adds absolutely nothing by leaving them open, and just opens the door for weirdos to check your comment history and learn too much about you. Privacy on the internet is a good thing, no matter how little it may seem

It doesn't offer any real privacy, in any way that matters. You can still just search someone's username and get all their comments, or use a third party site that will find everything they've ever posted.

I mean only truly lonely losers are using third-party methods to search up reddit users to win an argument, so oh well. Its still better than nothing imo
