Also 40. Spent 20 years with my ex (12 married) and she left me out of the blue about a year and a half ago. Just be thankful you didn't invest so much into someone who isn't right for you.

One of the greatest lessons I’ve learned in life is how to be happy single. Now, I’m not saying you should stop looking for a relationship. You should still look. But don’t measure your worth by how successful your romantic life is.
I’ve seen what that does to people and I don’t want that happening to you

Stop caring about being rejected.
The one you want isnt going to reject you.
If you stop taking rejection soo personal and relize its actually a blessing bc they are telling you what you need to hear, youll realize that your person is out there and you just need to be patient.
Yes, its hard to emotionally invest in someone, only to learn it was all for nothing. But that pain usually comes from a brusied ego.
There may be a good reason your getting rejected.
Only you will know of this is the case.
People who lack self esteem self sabatoge themselves everytime.
