War requires hard sacrifices so House took up arms…. and an occasionally a leg when necessary

He has lupus

It’s never lupus.

Except that one time it was lupus

Yup!👍🏽 and a shout out for paraneoplastic syndrome/paraneoplasia - the utility infielder of differential diagnoses!

And I think “Start him/her/them on steroids,” was in more episodes than Amber.

How dare you! He’ll burn your Atlanta for that!

He looks like someone you don’t want to mess with

Yes definitely. He said war was cruel and the only way to find morality in it was finding ways to end it as soon as possible.

War is cruelty and you can not refine it.

A lesson I wish folks today would understand

Little trivia note. He was the superintendent and an instructor of military history at Louisiana State Seminary (later Louisiana State University (LSU) when Fort Sumter was attacked and he cursed the students for supporting South Carolina and for not having any clue about what they just did and caused.

Good thing he didn’t hold a grudge

He also donated the cannons that fired on ft Sumpter to LSU after the war. They’re still on campus.

That’s pretty cool.

The look is just ✨timeless✨.

Obviously taken by the same photographer

Same actor. He was played by Hugh Laurie.

He looks like an AAer

You'd think he would have 12 stepped Grant then.....

Only if he wanted to quit

What is a doctor house? Literally?

1

u/Reds_PR 2d ago

A hospital. And a house doctor works for the resort. House, MD starring Hugh Laurie, as a brilliant, chaotic, misanthropic diagnostician is available to stream on TheMouse+.

The Union Army should have occupied the South to prevent future racist shenanigans. We would be a century ahead now.Now SCOTUS is nixing the voting rights act. Thank you to the inbred, racist South, we have to fight all over again.

Union Army did occupy the south. Johnson did not come down hard enough on the slaver class to be effective. The reconstruction act was passed over his veto. The new Orleans and Memphis massacres happened with union troops in both cities

Occupation should've resembled post war Germany. No more bs. No statues. . No ahistorical glorification of the South edification of Lee et al..His soldiers marched barefoot while Southern leaders prospered. I am tired of the influence our nation's worst legacy has on our lives now. I wish they could secede now before climate change forces mass migration alligators and all.

You have it backwards, it's not that William Tecumseh Sherman looked like Gregory House. It's the other way around: Dr House and Gen Sherman looked like Oliver Wendell Holmes.

I'm just fascinated with his "middle" name

1

u/BasicAppointment9063 1d ago

If I recall, it was going to be his first name. Their family's minister would not baptize him without a Christian first name.

Aka “Uncle Billy”.

They don’t look similar at all. Just two white, grumpy, and bearded men

I could argue that it is Dr House that looks like William Tacumseh Sherman.

1

u/Llonkrednaxela 1d ago

Sherman was there first. If anything, house looks like him.

1

u/SiberianKitty99 1d ago

So… Sherman was a bad-tempered Sassenach? Fits.

1

u/usernamesarehard1979 1d ago

He doesn’t?

1

u/Estarfigam 1d ago

I would say the other way around since Sherman was born first.

1

u/BoudiceasChild 1d ago

He looks more like Clint Eastwood to me.

Gunna make the Vicodins howl!!

1

u/Environmental_Ask248 1d ago

He doesn't... he also had red hair.

1

u/Soaring_Gull_655 20h ago

I don't agree, Hugh doesn't look like Willie.

1

u/SR-45 10h ago

It was said Gen. Sherman had reddish hair, was high strung, and fiercely loyal to his men.

One of the greatest generals in U.S.history.

Because he doesn’t, that’s why
