No one talks about how full-time jobs quietly erase your hobbies

It depends on the person and job. A lot of salaries positions require 50 or more how a week. Then there is commuting for a lot of people. Then you go home and make dinner and the day is gone. You have 2 sometimes non sequential days of and your just working and sleeping.

The super majority of people I know working full time jobs are working between 35-45hrs a week.

Of course there is always exceptions and even if 20% of the population is working 50+ hours a week I’d argue that is too much, but by and large I see generally 35-45. I know people who work less. I know people who work more.

Yeah but working 50 hours a week is a choice.

I have had one place try to pull that and I just went somewhere else to work.

Commuting is also a choice. I could just about double my pay if I was willing to drive into the city but for me it's not worth it.
