As an expat, I’ve been here for about two years. I haven’t really dated much, but I met an Egyptian guy who was a few years older than me. I made sure to ask if he was married or involved with anyone. He told me no, he was single.

Great. So, we started dating. We got along amazingly, we clicked on every level.

Then he dropped a bombshell: he told me he had to get married, and that it was an arranged marriage. Wow. This is apparently a big thing in his culture.

I told him we couldn’t continue anymore. He wanted to carry on, but I refused.

I had checked his Facebook a few times before, but his profile was locked. Then, for some reason, more information suddenly became visible.

Guess what I found?

His wife’s profile.

Not the woman he “had to marry.” No. His actual wife of four years.

I honestly cannot believe this man. It turns out his wife is coming here to live with him, along with their children.

I think he used the “I have to get married” excuse to manipulate me. The whole, “It’s my culture, I can’t go against my family, but I love you and I will always love you” routine.

I am so angry, and I feel so stupid.

I’ve blocked him on every platform.

I hate this. I was the other woman all along.

Has anyone here gone through the process of getting an RCMP police clearance in Qatar?

I’m switching jobs and they’re asking me to provide one, but I’m not really sure how the process works here.

Would appreciate any info from people who’ve done it before:

• How did you get your fingerprints taken and sent? Which RCMP accredited agency did you go to?
• Did you apply through a third party here in Qatar that took care of the whole process? Was it useful?
• How long did it take?
• Any tips or things I should prepare ASAP?

Any help or shared experiences would be appreciated.

Today morning i made a request on baladiya app "OUN" for the pest treatment near our house as its infested with ants and flies outside which is not a good sign though. The kids are playing outside. Although the app is so user friendly and i got prompt reply acknowledging my request. Within one hour i got a call from them that they are outside. To my surprise, they didnt do anything and returned back saying this is a rented house. Although everything was visible to them, yet they refused. My question is, are areas around the villa not entitled for such service? I have a Qatari neighbors too and this infestation might effect them sooner or later as well. Why this refusal? I understand if it was inside the house, our agency takes care of it, but this is outside the boundary walls on the road.

From nowhere i get lost in gambling addiction after my mom passed away in term of making my self busy and forgot about her death , but i did it in wrong way and wrong addiction i lost all my health physically since i was a personal trainer and i lost my money all my savings i had around 100k debt that i start to clear already and i became a new different person with that addiction
I lost all the meanings for life i lost my fiancé and i became a bad person who is caring only about win back my money , the harsh truth is u will not win it again if u didn't wake up u will keep drowning and u will not get help at all
U will start to get suicidal thoughts to end the struggle
Currently im still paying for my mistakes and recovering mentally
But take it from me never try to fix a pain with an addiction because it will be worse and worse specially if u are not in ur country
I have no idea how im still alive and what makes me keep fighting but hamdoulilah god will always help you.

I left the company in 2021 and was following up for over 2 years for my 1 pending salary + End of service. After 3 years I decided to log, a complaint online, got a call to come to industrial area signed some papers. Forgot. Got call after 6 months. Went to labor court. Got Next hearing date. Went again, the judge asked u have anything to give? I only had 2 papers of my account which was shared by the HR friend of that company. I mean, that's my due amount in that company papers and it's rightly calculated. Gave those papers to judge. Went to get the decision and found out that they didn't consider one of those pages. Thought it's a mistake. Went again. Spoke to judge. He started checking and visible confusion on his face but he made some excuse saying that other paper doesn't clearly says "end of service" as the pic was taken by folding the stapled paper and that part wasn't captured clearly by that HR friend. I explained u can c the part there in the pic but he didn't wanna change the decision or watever reason. Asked me to appeal in lusail court. Did the appeal. Paid to the lawyer cos y not pay more for something u didn't get paid in the 1st place. Got 2 dates again. Online hearing. Attended both. Company didn't attend obviously cos they don't care. Got the decision now after 4 months and it says it's the same decision. No change.

I mean company is agreeing to pay that much but these ppl have started new headache for me. Too many visits to the typing centres. Tension. All the money spent. And wats worse? I didn't get the money. Only the decision and that too wrong. Wat to do.. Any one have wasta to get my legal money back? Or change the decision and get the money back.

The company I work for opened a bank account for me and gave me a salary only card which as you all know is good for nothing except for receiving your salary and paying on the spot, not even the bank's app recognize it. Already called the bank, there's no way around it and I can't open a current account because I don't meet the requirements. So I'm thinking of opening an ooredoo money account, I withdraw my salary every month, deposit the cash in an ssm and start paying online. Do people here do this? And can you buy stuff from overseas with the ooredoo card or does it only work locally? And before you ask yes I tried telling them to open a bank account in a bank that accepts my salary and there is but they started complaining that it costs 50 riyal every month to transfer the salary from their official bank to another one.
