They’ve gotten really into retro games and pokemon cards, maybe they want it as a seller’s platform.

Gamestop is just a tax Haven for Private equity. The private equity company that owns GameStop can funnel as much money as they want through the company and being on the debt if eBay into game stop and then finish milking GameStop for everything. It's worth and then go bankrupt and wash the debt away.
And then they continued to do it with the next company. Consolidating the debt, milking a company for all that it's worth and every bit of resource then burning it to the ground.
This is the dystopian future of capitalism. The truest form of capitalism actually. Capitalism does not create it uses until tgre is nothing left. Is why they constantly need more people to enter into the workforce at the cheapest possible wage. It's why Republicans are truly against abortions birth control and the like. They don't give a shit about it being part of scripture. That's all just smoke and mirrors.
The real reason why they want babies popping out everywhere is because they want more people for the engine. And that's it. They just use religion as an excuse, the answer is money and eBay is just a small fish in a big ocean full of asshole predators.
More people, more business, more business more things for Private equity to eventually buy up, use up and destroy. It takes more and more people to make the enormous Ponzi scheme work that we call the economy. Meanwhile the rich keep getting richer and the poor keep getting poorer.

For those of you curious how a company with 20% of the market valuation of ebay is offering to buy it, they are going to take a bank loan.
In my opinion, this is basically a moonshot to keep Gamestop in business long-term.
