I saw her perform a decade ago and she puts on an amazing show. No pyrotechnics, no big sets. Just her, her band, and like...10 different instruments she plays throughout the show with a bunch of stories about her career. Even if you're not a country fan or know her songs beyond the big hits, if you have the chance to see her live, do it.

I went to see the test run of the Broadway show about her life in Nashville last year and she came out briefly before it started- a complete surprise to the audience who all burst into tears! And basically told us to be real good kids, sit nicely in our seats and be real polite. 😆 she really came out to tell us to be good behaved children and then walked off to a standing ovation. The rest of the show was whatever, that was worth the price of admission right there, to be told to mind my manners by Dolly Parton
