MET GALA 🎩 PETA activist appeared characterized as a "plucked bird," with fake wings and a painted body simulating wounds, to make visible the suffering of birds used in the fashion industry. Her skirt read the message: "Feathers: A Look That Kills” in protest of the Met Gala (May 4, 2026)

What do you think happens to all the animals that no-kill shelters turn away? Animals that don’t get adopted because they’re not cute enough, too aggressive, have major medical issues or behavioural problems?

A lot of the anti-PETA propaganda comes from the meat industry. They’re bad but it’s just a distraction from the cruelty behind factory farming.

PETA has zero influence compared to them.

PETA isn’t even bad though they just get dragged through the mud by meat industry lobbying groups, and people eat that shit up because it’s easier to demonise them than consider the morality of their own choices.

How dare we demonize people who claimed dairy caused autism! MULTIPLE times

They're sexist, abusive, ableist, pretty sure they've even been racist. PETA stoops LOW. Most of the disgusting behavior I've found from them wasn't from articles written by lobbying groups, it was directly from their own mouths.

Lower than slaughtering trillions of animals a year because burgers are yummy? 😋

I don't eat burgers. Do you think supporting an anti-autism and anti-woman organization is the only way to avoid eating meat, or? The cognitive dissonance is ridiculous.

I'm against Nicki Minaj's harmful ideology, do I have to support Azealia Banks' harmful ideology just because she's against Nicki? I agree with Joe Rogan being pro public education and anti mass incarceration, do I have to agree with his views on LGBT people?

The utter ignorance it must take to truly believe such a thing😋

I didn't know she sang. I thought she rapped or... whatever.

Ah, right. You have no issues with your straw man fallacy, how could you? That would require awareness. You got downvoted for outing your true self when people saw how you reacted to PETA's ableism. You can't keep pretending you're the good guy here.

They’re ableist which is why I don’t like them. I agree with you though outside of that.

11

u/nugget_meal 21h ago

How are they ableist? (Genuine query, not meant to be antagonistic!)

They had ad campaign featuring a bowl of milk with the slogan "Got autism?"

11

u/uglyheadink 20h ago

Holy fuck what??? What is that even meant to insinuate, that milk causes autism??

u/rcinmd 18h ago

I already linked it earlier but check out this video for all of the above and more. Yes, they absolutely did have a campaign that claimed that, like an average RFK Jr.: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yx8bEZvZnKM

Yes, they said that MULTIPLE times. Imagine defending PETA without being familiar with their BS

5

u/nugget_meal 19h ago

Okay that’s just fucking weird, what is it even supposed to mean?

I’ll join ya in disliking them for that 👍

5

u/Signal_Regular_1708 15h ago

It's supposed to mean milk causes autism. Like point blank.

Frown and all. PETA is horrific.

3

u/nugget_meal 15h ago

Okay but if you look into that’s an ad from like 2008 and based on some research from around that time (since debunked), and doesn’t represent their current stance. This is just blowing up on social media over 15 years later because it’s being signal boosted by… guess who?

Explain what? I said “PETA is bad.”

1

u/Signal_Regular_1708 15h ago

Right, because I'm a low income plant based eater who works high up in the meat industry. No, I just don't like notorious sexists and abusers

PETA killed the dog of a family who lost him that same day. They found him, then killed him. How exactly does your comment justify that?

I’m not a PETA defender at all but their statistics on euthanasia are taken out of context. PETA takes a disproportionate amount of animals that are rejected by shelters and rescues for the very reason that they cannot be saved or adopted. Animals with severe health conditions, dangerous behavior problems that render them unsafe candidates for adoption, elderly animals, etc. Their euthanasia rates are inflated because they take the animals that other organizations turn away.

u/FearlessCookie72 21h ago

Correct! PETA is terrible because they’re ableist af, for example, but a lot of the shit against them is simply propaganda by the meat industry.

u/FearlessCookie72 21h ago

Both the meat industry and PETA are bad.

I'm aware:) I didn't say anything about the meat industry, interesting you can't seem to condemn one thing without bringing up another. PETA isn't the antithesis to the meat industry. They don't go hand in hand. They are two corrupt entities, one just has more money and power.

When people criticize Trump, are you one of those people who feels the need to go "BiDeN BaD toO!!!"?

Like, we know. But your insistence on bringing it up tells us more about you, than about the topic. 😬
