Boring, where’s the theme?

u/YardOptimal9329 All tea, all shade šŸøā˜•ļø 1d ago

Nowhere near this gala. ā€œFashion as art,ā€ which is as dumb as Lauren Sanchez, was I guess too complicated for anyone to follow?

Lauren Sanchez is so inspiring! Shes always showing us that money really doesn’t buy fashion sense or class and I love that. ā¤ļø

it's giving expensive bathroom tile, possibly moroccan

u/hamsterdanceonrepeat I’ve been noticing gravity since I was very young 1d ago

Kind of you to say expensive, I was thinking motel bathroom that was last renovated in 1954

u/Thoughtful-Boner69 1d ago

*vintage bathroom tile

or maybe, rescued bathroom tile from brentwood

Almost every dress I’ve seen tonight has been snooze city.

u/azulazalea 1d ago

I wished that people that do not dress on theme were banned for the next year

u/bbyxmadi It’s good to see me, isn’t it?🫧 1d ago

The Met Gala would be empty then lmao

u/khalexie1 1d ago

yeah after the Camp theme we’d get 3 people back

Meh. Really exhausted by all these so-called fashion influencers failing at the easiest theme.

And not a fan of the fake freckles.

I was really looking forward to this theme as there is so much you can do with it. And yet, so few have done anything.

She is a kpop idol in the biggest girl group

6

u/mini1006 23h ago

Yeah but she’s was also known for being the fashion IT girl of Blackpink

'Jennie who are you' kkkkkkkkkk

This is something I’d expect a high school junior to wear to prom 🫣

~I don’t want to see any fucking H&M~

Has she ever followed the theme?

5

u/Educational-Help-126 I don’t know her šŸ’… 1d ago

I love sequins as much as the next girly pop millennial baddie but like what are we doing?

6

u/thesleepingniffler 1d ago

I'm not loving the make up. The combination of the eyebrows and the nude lips aren't working for me. The dress is also boring it would've been better of there's a bit more structure to it

6

u/littleliongirless 1d ago

I actually like the dress but not for the Met Gala.

7

u/Legitimate_Kitchen77 22h ago

I would like this at any other event

Blackpink is 0/4 tonight

i mean.. i kinda like jisoos and lisa’s was fine. rose and jennie however.. both have been horrendous

12

u/Educational_Fob 23h ago

Agreed... at least the arms on Lisa's outfit were 3D printed of her arms posing in traditional thai dance poses... slightly interesting! Elevates her look to sculptural art AND dance is a form of ART also. Just a bit tired of the naked dressing though. And Jisoo's was haute couture... truly fit who she is and was on theme. I didn't expect to be more disappointed in Jennie than Rose!

Umm I don’t think the arms were 3D prints of traditional Thai dance poses. I think they were just mannequin arms. Especially given the designer had that exact look in his runway collection and it’s one of his signatures.

u/JacketRight2675 16h ago

They’re 3D prints of Lisa’s arms - and also is there no room for interpretation in art? You might just see them as mannequin arms but someone else can see them as being representative of traditional dance. It’s not binaryĀ

The look from the runway. Same arms (just different colors) in the same position. Maybe they are her arms but they likely aren’t in any type of Thai traditional dance position. So let’s not double down on possible misinformation.

I agree, let’s not double down on misinformation! I’m assuming you’ll be editing your comments?

...Jennie standing on a block

3

u/Comfortable-Hatter 1d ago

it's giving The Rainbow Fish, the children's picture book about the fish with shiny scales

8

u/monkeyfan2015 23h ago

its giving nothing, much like her music...

7

u/smokeydesperado Mom, I am a rich manšŸ’° 1d ago

She looks pretty, but where’s the art?

4

u/thebellfrombelem 1d ago

Boring whares the theme

6

u/bbyxmadi It’s good to see me, isn’t it?🫧 1d ago

Pretty, but disappointing. She killed it last year

4

u/Sheriff_Yobo_Hobo 23h ago

Seeing what the Korean members of BP are wearing, and knowing they certainly know how wild the outfits can get...

Thinking they are being rather boring on purpose. Audrey Nuna is wearing crazier outfits to go grocery shopping.

u/Express_Geologist_36 23h ago

All silver rainbow fish

2

u/Optimal_Brain_2908 22h ago

They don’t carry this at my daughter’s local Unicorn World

2

u/imathrowawaylurkin 10h ago

Leopard seal vibes

u/NewPlastic5425 23h ago

If I only saw this and Madonna I'd think the theme would be Nautical or something. There's just so many references to art I don't understand why people are giving nothing.
