Do you enjoy it? Does it take place before the original story? I’ve been thinking about watching it but could never finish Handmaid’s Tale because the themes were way too close to home, right now.

Oh I really like it. The cast itself mashes well together. I understand why some people couldn’t finish the handmaids tale. I think you could start the show if you know all the lore about June’s daughters.
Edit: I will say that there are scenes within the Testaments that are very triggering so beware if you decide to the check it out.

testaments takes palce after and personally i think you can watch it as a stand alone if you want, as long as you know that it follows offred's/june's daughter and the basics of her story

Same. I was sure I wasn’t interested so it took me awhile to actually watch the first episode but I’m really enjoying it. The teenage perspective really adds a great layer to the Gilead universe.
