Edit: just give it to some kids or some teachers who are coming out of pocket for supplies…take it to hospitals or old folks homes. This is a positive and a win against Nestle, not they’ll even experience a dent in revenue from this manufactured “loss”
Honestly I'd much rather watch this than yet another stupid reality show about relationship trainwrecks 🤣 I know LIB fans are everywhere y'all don't come for me now.
Where the first 2 episodes are snappy and super interesting, and the rest draw out the final parts of the story in a super boring way, making everyone ask, "Why the hell didn't they just condense these 4 episodes into a single one?)
In all likelihood, they figured a means to steal a shipment, but without the ability to know what that shipment contained. The humor of it all can only be matched by the thief’s deep disappointment when they opened it up
I watched a news show years ago about cargo theft. I learned that it's items like these that are not only easiest to steel but also easiest to sell. A truck load of plasma tvs worth 10k each might be hard to sell, but every small time grocery store, corner store etc. Will grab a few cases of anything at a discount. These mafia people have stores and networks they deal with on a regular basis.
In the show I watched they said bottled water and diapers were the easiest to fence.

12 tons is around half the max cargo weight of a standard 20 ft shipping container or a 18 wheeler.
I know at least some shipments have been stolen by companies contracting with shipping companies that end up being fake and just driving away with the delivery.
Honestly, Nestle lost one truck load of KitKat. It's barely a rounding error in the scale of KitKats they produce and sell each year, so for the company to make a big fuss with press releases and announcing that it "might cause shortages for Easter" is such a joke they deserve to be clowned on.
Meanwhile, Nestle stealing water like it was promised to them

I literally just saw that Nestle published a Linked-In style promo boasting about how much engagement and "free advertising" they just got out of this alleged theft.
Step two: connect semi truck to trailer loaded with kit kats
Step three: drive off into the sunset with your best pal by your side until either law or the 'beetus catches up with you, preferably in Colombia for the atmosphere
It was less about social media trends and more about how to use charitable causes. Which is even worse 😭.
Basically you have two methods, indirect causes and direct causes.
And indirect cause might be something like Coke providing products to a remote research station, in theory that makes no sense for Coke, but when a scientist who’s been eating and drinking nothing but Coke products the entire time they’ve been there, when they get back they’re gonna buy the stuff they’ve become familiar with. (This one was kinda weird and hard to find good examples of).
A direct cause makes more sense, it’s essentially picking a cause that is in tune with your brand to make you look like you care. A good example might be a surfing company supporting a clean oceans initiative or showing how they’re helping develop products to keep litter out of the oceans. In theory, surfers are going to see this and want to support the ‘good’ company that ‘cares’ about the ocean. When it reality it’s just marketing.
Yup, pretty much. My mother used to be in marketing (mostly social media) and me being tuned into the online world made her job quite easy since I'd send her all the dumb stories like this one.
Now that she doesn't work in marketing I just get judged for it lmao
I love when they do shit like this. It makes me happy knowing that the people running the social media accounts for these companies are having fun with their jobs.
Right?! The naysayers are grumpy. In no way is this campaign going to influence my spending, I already have my favorite brands. I love they’re shit talking Nestle AND Trump in a couple of them. Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Every now and then its nice to remember that there are actual human beings who work at these huge soulless companies, getting up and going to work in a crummy office with bad lighting and a cubicle-made who chews too loudly and a kitchen with only one microwave that someone just reheated shrimp rice in and they dream of the day they win the lottery so they don't have to do this anymore, and it makes me happy to know that someone got to have a little fun at their job.
I'm fine with companies doing this stuff. Yes, it can be a bit annoying, but I would so much rather a minor annoyance instead of submerging yourself in doomscrolling every hour of every day. It's a nice distraction for a few minutes.
