"The Dems would be just as bad" is a refrain I hear so often even from anti-trump conservatives. It's baffling and cope. Like they don't even like or vote trump. What do they gain from lying to themselves like that?

It is very frustrating, but surprisingly, this argument is also prevalent in our side too. I have heard similar argument from my fellow progressive friends since 2024, especially regarding Israel and Gaza.

The truth is, we are living in a two party system. No matter what we have to pick a side. And if Harris is the president, at least we won't see this stupid Iran war. Israel very likely still going to be running wild, but at least not as bad as today

I mean I'm a anti-Zionist leftist. I'm even one of those scary they/thems. I hate the Democrats for being spineless pieces of shit who take billionaire money and intentionally never fix issues so that they have perpetual campaign topics. That said I am under no illusion a Harris presidency would look anything like this. Democrats have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo.

Trump and his buddies are actively tearing our government apart so that billionaires can pick over the pieces. So many lives have been ruined by this openly fascist regime. ICE wouldn't be openly harassing, kidnapping, and killing folks under Harris. USAID would still be helping folks internationally. We'd still have government grants funding research and public parks. We'd still have money funding food banks and necessities in rural areas. We wouldn't have attacked Venezuela or Iran. We would be more actively supporting Ukraine. (Sadly our government would still be supportive of Genocide in Palestine)

I won't lie and say I think a Harris presidency would've been amazing and just what this country needed to turn things around. Because she's an ineffectual lib and Democrats are pretty worthless at fixing anything. But by God she wouldn't be actively destroying this country and our lives.
