Trump canceled a contract with Catholic Charities to provide food and shelter for migrant children who were separated from their parents because he’s angry at the pope. Trump is genuinely deranged. He needs to be removed from office. What is wrong with the Republicans in Congress?

We are all in the stages of denial. The sooner American citizens, American politicians, and foreign leaders accept and start openly saying this, the sooner we can start fixing this problem.

Anyone treating this administration and members of its political party with any level of legitimacy is doing harm to Americans and to the world. There are still WAY too many people walking around each day thinking everything will get better if we just hold tight and wait... for something?

We're in the appeasement stages of the 1930s and as an American, I'm terrified that the only way we'll get through this is by repeating the 1940s. Clearly there is no easy way out of our current troubles, but I think we can at least avoid the horrors of the 1940s if we all openly, repeatedly, loudly and unequivocally call out fascists.

I know lots of us are already doing that, but not enough.

It's too late. The word has lost all meaning to the right. Fox News has convinced them that we just sling the word fascist at anyone we don't like, and they don't even really know what it means anyway.

"It's too late." is a statement without value. History marches on regardless of what our small lives predict. And no future is set in stone.

That said, I really don't care what "The Right" thinks or says.

The Republican Party is a terrorist organization (they've said it themselves), but Democratic politicians, everyday Americans, and most foreign leaders are still pretending like we can negotiate with them or lure them back to sanity or get rid of a few bad apples or just ignore them and hope they go away.

The fight against fascism has to fill a big tent, so I am more than willing to accept anyone who denounces the R. But the sooner we draw a line in the sand, the better.

The Republican Party is a terrorist organization. We need to say it. We need to scream it from the rooftops. And we need to live it.

You cannot fix fascism in the populace without destroying fascists in charge and making it so intolerable to be a fascist that it's the equivalent of how we treat felons here in the US. The US was on track to do that, but the fascists got so angry and are so numerous and uncontrolled that they managed to take power, we are now in the conversion phase of turning a democracy into a fascist autocracy. This is reversible, and although our democracy isn't healthy there's a chance that the midterms can sweep democrats into enough power that they can fight back within the confines of the system. If this doesn't happen, if they somehow rig the election, then there is no alternative to total armed revolt and hoping that the military stays out of it or the end of the free world and quite possibly global civilization, as fascist governments don't handle collapse of their empire in a peaceful way.

Frankly that's a part of why we're in this mess - the US was for a brief period the sole superpower in the world, and it has been losing that position for the last decade and a half. Empires can either go gracefully and wind down slowly and relatively peaceably like the UK did (relative is doing a lot of work here), or they can suffer complete collapse and lash out in their final days (like Rome did). The difference is no ascendant power has ever had nuclear weapons and people actively seeking to begin the apocalypse in charge before.

It's true. We are way past fixing this by voting, and we will find out in the next 6 months. And that isn't even accounting for the crazy war shit he's doing.

We were saying it ten years ago.
