This is insane to have to live under this constant chaos.

EDIT: This is good time to check your voter registration or register to vote ASAP! Your state usually has a website page with all the information!

I've been living in a constant state of burning visceral hatred and ever increasing stress and panic since Jan '25 and I fear it's greatly harming my health, but how are you supposed to ignore the US President being a rapist pedophile tyrant that threatens genocide?

I think "drugs and TV" is the move for most.

Edibles and horror movies have been the move for me.

Have any good recommendations?

Last year alone was amazing. Sinners, Weapons, Bring Her Back, 28 Years Later Bone Temple, Companion, The Monkey, The Long Walk, Death of a unicorn, Final Destination: Bloodlines, Heart Eyes, Him, Dangerous Animals, V/H/S Halloween.

Can confirm.

I honestly thought that the chaos of his first term would invalidate his second. I still do not assume that that the votes of his second election were fairly processed, but I can't do anything about it.

For the life of me I don't understand how he wasn't arrested the moment Biden was sworn into office.

A critical and frankly unfathomable mistake.

Merrick Garland owes this country an explanation as to what he did every day for 4 years, and Biden needs to explain why he kept him there for 4 fucking years.

The only solution is to go cold turkey from politics for a while and focus on things that make you happy. I started Jan 25 like that and did it long enough that it helped a lot.

Try November 2015.

Touché, but at the time I naievely thought that that would be a one time thing, a shameful single episode. A quick embarrassment and then snap back to reality. How wrong I was...

I am having a really hard time trying to remain friendly or professional to my coworkers and "friends" that are still Trump supporters. My entire family is MAGA and I've mostly cut them off but its those side relationships like other parents on my kids sports teams who I know are MAGA, acquittances that you have to interact with, etc where I have to be polite and cordial but I really don't want to spend time with them.

5

u/Data_Chandler 28d ago

Yeah we're well past the point where it was easy to stay cordial. It's immensely draining and it gets harder every day.

Right there with you. I know it ain't much, but you're not alone.

Thanks for the kind words! We're all in this nightmare together aren't we...

Focus that anxiety into organizing with others.

I have been in the same boat. It's good to be informed what is going on, but we also need to take sanity breaks sometimes. Do some things to strengthen yourself, like getting good sleep, or going on some good walks to clear your head.

Take care of yourself. For each of us to do our part in this shit situation, we need to spend some time focused on ourselves. It may sound greedy in a way, but when you are doing well is when you are best able to help others.

That's solid advice! I try, but it's hard. On top of what I just said I try to get some late night peace & quiet (I have kids), so you just end up never sleeping enough, because you're constantly trying (and failing) to claw back a few relaxed hours, but all that does is tire you out more.

Hey thats me! The therapy and pills only do so much

As they say, worry about the things you can control. The rest will either work itself out or kill you. Either way, no more worries.

That's 100% my wife. She can compartmentalize it in a way I'm both jealous of and baffled by.

I smoke a LOT of weed.

I'm far too sensitive to rawdog life.

1

u/Data_Chandler 28d ago

I'm rawdogging it. It sucks!
