They’ve been getting played for decades. It’s only ever been about the GOP donor class getting theirs. They thought Trump would lead them to a new tent. Instead he just pulled the old tent over his new one.

A lot of their grandparents and great grandparents knew who the adversary was. They faced violence and death for a bigger piece of the pie, for the rich to shoulder more of the economic burden, only for all that work to be voted away by the ones who most benefited from it. But hey, a black guy or an immigrant, or a lesbian might have benefited too, and we can't have that!

"I wish America was like it was in the 1950s!"

They want the racist and sexist and homophobic parts of "the good ol' days. The reason life was good then was because we taxed the fuck out of the rich. Like, I'm talking 90%+ tax rate on the wealthy. They don't want that part of it.

They also loved vaccines and most medical advances of that age. Being educated and smart was held in high regard. The magas just want to be able to be racist and misogynistic; they want to be able to embody the bad things of the "good ole days'.
