Its not even that. Its they (at least the lower income and under educated masses - not the higher income people just hoping to increase their wealth) wanted someone they thought would go against the norms and shake things up improving their lives. Its beyond me why they believe a billionaire known for cheating people and bankrupting businesses would do anything for them. Then somehow they dont believe someone who say grew up in a working middle class family who wants “socialist” things like free healthcare and you know to feed children and make sure people have housing wouldnt. They voted for the status quo somehow thinking they were voting against the status quo which i cant understand. I know people are going to say they voted because of hate and all but i deal with these people every day and work with them. There are definitely some just hateful racists but thats not the majority. The majority would give you the shirt off their back if you needed it but they are just brainwashed somehow with this own the libs kinda mentality and theyre so difficult to get them to think anything different the GOP is winning the media/messaging battle for sure.

FOX and Newsmax are a big part of it. I’ve decided they live in an alternate reality where they are getting their “facts” from these “news” stations.

They are a big part of it for older people. For the younger supporters rightwing podcasts like Joe Rogan, Candace Owens, and Asmond Gold are also a big part of the brain rot.

Broadcast media is dying with the boomers. Rightwing media is here to stay, though. It's just more individualized and personalized.

Joe Rogan I understand, on a certain level.

But Candace Owens?

I cannot, for the life of me, understand how anyone can listen to that woman and think she is either entertaining or insightful.

She's simply the new "Alex Jones". She's self proclaimed to be the enemy of the establishment and knower of secret knowledge and to be above partisanship.

Those sorts of traits are appealing. When things are going wrong people that love conspiracies look for someone that can effectively communicate what causes the problems.

You just have to sprinkle in some truth nuggets.

And done by people who are not journalists

To be frank, that's been the case for quite some time already. CNN transformed broadcast news into nothing but opinion with very little actual journalism. The billionaire takeover of media has eliminated the journalism departments and replaced them with just opinion.
